Tesla Model 3 (New, 2022 Manufacture Date, RWD, White, Inventory) $54,712 after Rebate + Free $600 Connector @ Tesla NZ

210

[edit 18/6/2023] - Model 3 RWD deal sweetened with 3 months free supercharging and a $600 mobile connector thrown in. model Y seems to be out of stock.

Prices for Auckland delivery, and clean car rebate value based on the assumption you can get the car registered by the end of the month ($1500 less rebate if not)

Model 3 (2022 manufacture year), RWD, White, Inventory: $63,337 - $8625 rebate = $54,712 drive away.

Model 3 (2023 manufacture year), RWD, White, Inventory: $64,007 - $8625 rebate = $55,382 drive away.

For comparison the last time the model 3 was posted, it was $56,667 drive away, after rebate.

A non inventory Model 3 starts from $59,862

Model Y inventory pricing unchanged since the time the deal above was posted. ($62,222 after rebate).

Interesting that Tesla has some 2022 manufactured date cars in inventory, but for the price-sensitive buyer they represent a small saving. Both cars in question have the latter (slightly larger) LFP battery pack with 491km WLTP rated range. Neither car's are listed as demonstrators

In New Zealand the "Year" of a Car, is it's year of first registration, rather the year of build, so even if you buy the 2022 car, it will be registered as a 2023 car, and you will be able to sell it as a 2023 car…

Interesting that Tesla even advertises the year of build. Most other brands don't.

But in general I am loving the return of discounts and price cuts to the new car space.

Just checking, is the rebate end of the month comment still accurate? I thought the rebate rules changed already at the start of this month?

1st July is the change over date.

      • Thanks, mentally I had the wrong month there for some reason.

I wonder if these are the cars that were returned for some reason and are now "refurbished"

    • No they are not refurbished. They are essentially cancelled orders. You can't claim rebate on a registered cars. Tesla don't have refurbished cars, they will have used inventory which will be marked as such and can't claim rebate on them.

Btw: I don't think you can return a Tesla, atleast I have not heard of it yet.

      • thanks for clarifying

      • You could back in the day, but you can't now.

    • They are unregistered. And they are listed as not being demonstrators.

Potentially could have been show room cars?

Or inventory cars from anouther market with weaker EV sales than NZ (Aust?)

      • Show room cars are registered as far as I know, but could be wrong. Plus they won't have so many show room cars, as they have only 1 showroom in NZ. Also, they won't have the base model as display.

I have only seen a red Y and black 3 so far

        • Yea their test drive showroom fleet are all registered,
          Two showrooms now too,

          • @rkl: Aah, just saw they opened in Wellington.

            • @ace310: Oh I didnt know about that one! They opened a massive service centre next to my work in Mangere. Has a showroom and delivery point too

    • Not returned as you can't anymore. But they can either be cancelled orders OR extras Tesla has ordered in for potential new orders/fast deliveries.

Just putting this out. There is an undocumented change between 2022 & 2023 M3. Verified by few owners on FB group. M3 manufactured in 2023 have got Boombox enabled. Pedestrian Warning Speaker, which means you can make the car fart externally and enables Boom Box. Maybe not worth the price, but just to let others know.

This has only been for M3 so far. No confirmation on MY yet.

$670 to make the car fart externally is money well spent!

Starting July 7, 2023, if your friend orders a new Model 3 or Model Y using your referral link:

    • They’ll receive NZ$800 off their purchase price and 3 months of Enhanced Autopilot.
    • You’ll receive 10,000 referral credits.

If you own (or have previously owned) a qualifying product, and you subsequently purchase an additional qualifying product with the same Tesla Account, you may also qualify for the cash awards and benefits listed above.

If an existing owner attempts to order through a referral link (whether their own or a friend’s), they will not qualify for referral credits, because the buyer is already part of the Tesla community. Instead, the owner automatically earns the buyer cash awards and exclusive referral benefits associated with the purchased product.

These offers are subject to Terms and Conditions. Vehicles with existing Enhanced Autopilot will not receive alternative promotion offers.
