You can upgrade the Pita to "Regular" for +$2 too.

  • Nearest branches to me have disabled their Ubereats lol. Hope they have this promo again on a weekday.

    • probably stay closed the whole week, unless they not making enough sales

      • Or just to mute that annoying ubereats chime that was constantly ringing

Don't forget you can schedule orders for later in the week. Ordered lunch for 3 days this week

    • Tried this at britomart and prices were normal on tuesday and wednesday scheduled. How did you do it

Nearest pita pit isn't available. Ordered St pierres but they only offer delivery. Got 2, one each for myself and partner. Quite disappointed, not sure if they gave me a small or this is actually the large size. Looks like maybe a medium at a push to me. No way would I ever pay $16 for this.

    • Cant really complain for $5 but $16 is a rip

      • other locations its $12.70

      • In store price for small is $6.99 and for large $11.29 (you can order directly off their website and prices vary per stores). But about a 30% uber tax

    • Non-uber eats price for it around 11 nzd

  • ordered 10 thanks OP

  • Picked up 3 lots of $5 chicken on rice. No Uber fees on pickup so worked out well

    • I don't understand why Uber eats has pickup isn't the only reason they exist delivery

      • They charge service fees to us and to the restaurants. Uber is really scummy company. Though i do make sure to use their promotions well to get the most out of them in a scummy way myself.

        • I know that but I don't know why they offer pickup since the only reason they exist is because people are willing to pay extra for convenience

          • @pinch: I guess at some restaurants u cannot order online, so that could be why. People just order through ubereats menu and then they go pickup.

            • @penguinez: Just sucks because in that situation uber are taking 30% for doing nothing

              • @pinch: The large chicken on rice was $11 in store, and $16 receipt from Uber so the stores are putting a good markup on as well

                • @Sadie: makes sense

                • +1

@Sadie: Yeah, a place i go to on the shore for the mrs sometimes only has ubereats for online ordering. Its annoying and they charge about 10% more for it. But for them to put in their own online ticketing system would probably cost more.

All online systems charge a fee. I think menulog and tuckerfox charge 10% for their platforms.

In the US it is common that apps like Yelp dont list the restaurants actual phone number in the app but the grubhub associated number so that yelp and grubhub take a cut without you knowing.

          • +2

@pinch: It can sometimes be useful if you're in a major city and you're keen on skipping a huge queue at say 6pm on a Friday

UE's menu mark-ups would be dismissed as sweating the small stuff too much by a certain class of people. They're keener to just check their phone for an exact collection time, and they also want a non-stranger to handle the collection and delivery.

        • Exactly. They want to be the middleman (i.e. Steam, Apple App Store) and earn middleman profits without doing much of anything, and they want to corner the market so it turns into a "one app to rule them all" kind of thing.

      • From google
Customers can use the feature to conveniently pick up their orders when they arrive at the restaurant. UberEats Pickup helps customers save time and money by avoiding delivery and service fees and eliminating wait times associated with delivery

Also no offense, keep questions related to the post otherwise all the good stuff gets buried in here with Q n A like this
