It’s a good discount but the prices are still really high 😭

true, i've seen some petrol stations near Gull dont even price match anymore or by like 10-11pm they change their prices despite Gull discount until 7am or midday next day.
I guess they're just letting Gull take the hit. But at the same time, I've seen the prices at Gull steadily increasing over the past 2 months, could correlate with petrol rising from $70 US a barrel to close to $80 in past month?

Need some expert to give some insight, Sharetankdude where you at! haha

  • Anyone know when they usually give out vouchers? Discount day looks like its every other week now but often they don’t give out vouchers anymore.

Technically they don't do discount days every week. They still only do discount days roughly once a month, with popup savings most weeks when there are no discount days. AFAIK when they started the popup savings they still only gave vouchers at the regular discount day rather than the popup savings ones.

But then they said in the October and November vouchers they'd stop giving them at the end of the year. I thought end of the year meant they'd give one in December especially since the November one just said going away at the end of the year rather than this is the last one.

But they didn't seem to as far as I could tell, and someone else said they'd stopped giving them. AFAIK they haven't given any since then although I generally go to Pak'nSave Westgate nowadays so haven't checked myself.

This is a discount day not popup savings so theoretically is when they should give the vouchers but I doubt they will, the message in the last vouchers seemed fairly clear. I assume part of the reason is because once they started the popup savings. the vouchers overlapped with the popup savings.

Originally discount days last 30 hours (7am to midday the next day) like they always did, while pop-up savings lasted 24 hours (rarely 12 hours) so that was an obvious difference. But the difference between were less clear once they started to make the discount days only last 24 hours as well. Still popup savings are normally lower discounts than discount days. In the past, sometimes popup savings were petrol only. But anyway, even now they're still advertised different. See e.g. https://gull.nz/discountday/category/All which calls some discount days and others popup savings.
