    I'd advise getting a fitness tracker / smartwatch that: 1) Has an always screen (pushing a button or my wrist takes far to long) and 2) has a readable display outdoors.

    Pebble's (which is now owned by FitBit) can be had for ~ $50 on eBay and Amazon though they possible wont last past the end of the year,

    Another option could be a Mi Band 2. Can get them for around $20 - $30.
