They probably realised that giving out free lightbox subs is not really an incentive for people to switch to spark.
Exactly, I didn't realise lightbox and all those other Quickflix / Igloo / TIVO Casper etc alternatives were still going.

Could be part of their plan with this. Swap in Netflix to their subscribers so they can kill off Lightbox.

It would be really huge if they could give the Lightbox show rights to the Netflix NZ catalogue in exchange for reduced fees for Spark customers or something.

Huh, would have never guessed spark doing this deal since they have lightbox. The 24 month contract is a killer though.
