UPDATE:
Hey everyone - I never got a reply from sony, but Noel Leeming said to bring them into a store. Brought them in Monday and they contacted sony for me, picked up a brand new replacement pair Tuesday! Really happy with the outcome and service from Noel Leeming and Sony! Thanks for your help.
Hey guys, I bought the sony ZX770BN from Noelleeming in Feb 2016 Link.
They have a 1 year warranty and retail for $330NZD on the sony nz website (I paid less than a third of that though). They have broken today mechanically (ear cup swivel bit) through no fault of my own (no misuse etc, not even a scratch on them!) and are currently 47 days out of warranty (48 tomorrow when I can call anyone).
Do I have any rights to a repair or replacement under nz consumer protection law? Sony is meant to be a reputable brand, and the product is mid to high range in their lineup? Who should I talk to, Noel Leeming, Sony, or NZ consumer affairs?
Cheers.
