Thanks! updated
Good price.
I've been a WD fan for years, but these do seem to get good reviews compared to the earlier Seagates.
It's going to be a nightmare to RMA this, so you might as well spend US$20 (NZ$30) more and get a 5TB Seagate External HDD, and rip out the drive.
From?
Huh? How is it better to completely void a warranty by shucking an external versus RMA'ing a retail drive?
Seagate warranty and RMA claims are handled by Ingram Micro for NZ, or you can send the disk directly to Singapore for replacement.
IMO it's much smarter to keep the warranty, versus voiding the 5TB warranty.
Probably meant that warranty is dependent on the location you purchased it from. So the warranty from manufacturers would be handled either by amazon or some place in the usa.
Not really
Amazon is easy to RMA from.
I've got it coming in as $183 NZD with shipping.
