  • This is back again, anyone got one or have an opinion on them? Obviously higher weight and higher loft is going to provide more warmth. But hows the value for money on this one?

I'm interested as well. Anyone's feedback is greatly appreciated.

      • I have one of these - bought it last year. Damn warm and comfortable. Thinking about getting another one for my wife.

      • I also have one. This + one layer (shirt) is definitely more than adequate for winter in the city in the upper north island.

I got one a few days ago and I'm happy with it. Not as bulky as some puffer jackets but because it's down it's really warm compared with jackets that have polyester or a mixture of down and feathers. Price is also good for a pure down jacket, I had a look at similar ones at Kathmandu, Bivouac and NorthFace and this one seemed to be slightly better value than those. Of course you can get cheaper if you go for Warehouse/Glassons/Hallensteins etc but they typically use polyester as the insulating material. Other people have commented that the sizing are on the large side and I agree. Usually get a size 10 but tried it on in the shop and size 8 was still quite roomy for me.

They also have the same deal across the ditch and people think it's a great jacket. Read the comments on ozbargain here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/314325

  • The price at the website shows as $99?

    • Need to put the coupon code at checkout

  • Look good enough to me, my old columbia jacket that I got off 1-day is getting a bit tired now. Ordered one for the wife and one for me, Got the 10% off and free shipping (maybe as above $100?)

  • $95 all up. Thanks.

  • Kathmandu also has a similar deal but ozbargain seems to reckon the macpac one is superior

  • 21st June is the Winter Solstice. Weather is going to get warmer now.

    • Coldest temperatures are usually a month after the solstice

      • i always find mid-winter the coldest

  • Tried one of these on this evening. Looks good, YKK zips, decent enough stitching etc for the price. Feels better than the kathmandu one, as well as having slightly better loft rating, and double the fill weight too.

I agree with the ozbargain comments that these run a bit large, i went in a size smaller than usual and the fit was perfect.

  • Bought one in store, very well made and warm. Sleeves are super long.

    • same deal in store?

      • 99.99 in store. Can't be waiting 2-3 for delivery to save $5.

        • yeah, plus can try it on for sizing

        • @quote: yeah pretty much. I am usually a large size but bought medium and can also have a better look at colors etc

  • I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I can't get the discount code to work at the checkout. Have tried it with both capital letters and lower case. It says code is not valid. Any suggestions from someone who has had success with it?

    • Possible that the codes have expired. I've expired the deal, if someone knows what the trick is, they can let me know and I'll update it.

      • Don't know about codes but $99.99 deal still valid in stores.

        • Ahh yes, thanks. I've removed the codes and updated the title.

  • I wouldn't pay much attention to the RRP -when it is their own brand they can set RRP at whatever they want and then "discount" it on sale. I'm not saying it isn't a good deal but just be aware…

    • yeap 100% not worth $280, but happy at $90 each
