PB Tech have got the MDR-1000x at a sharp price
This would be as the new ones are out at the end of the month in NZ..

There have been reports of an issue with the headphone cracking at the joint, however as these come with warranty I dont see it being an issue.

Very good set of cans, similar to the QC35's, some say better some say worse depending on who you talk to.
I just bought a pair second hand last week :( (Really happy with the set though)

    mdr 1000x has been going cheap for a while now as they have the issue of snapping at the headband joints. Its a common issue that pretty much happens to most people even if its taken good care of. It only lasts a few months thats why they are releasing the version 2…

      My version 1 have no cracks, and version 2 has the exact same headband (some crack reports already) so what you said is not correct
