Westpac offers some launch offers in light of BNZ getting out of Airpoints. They offer no annual fee for the 1st year saving you $55 with the MasterCard and $145 with the platinum. You will also get 3x airpoints and a free balance transfer with 0% for 12 months.
The Platinum Card seems like a good deal especially with the steep annual fee, + extended warranty for 1 year and free travel insurance for 35 days.
MasterCard: 1 point for every $120 spent on the card
Platinum MC: 1 point for every $75 spent on the card
Then tripled until July 31.
The Platinum also gets you:
- Earn one Status Point for every $225 spent on the card2
- Join Koru and the joining fee will be waived, and receive a $145 discount off a standard 12-month Individual Membership rate
- Extended Warranty Insurance of 12 months for goods purchased on your Airpoints™ Platinum MasterCard, and Purchase Protection Insurance too
- up to 35 days of overseas travel insurance
Comparison Table. No idea what the eligibility criteria is for this card but I'm guessing you probably need to be working full time to get the Platinum.
