Amazon is offering the Seagate Backup Plus Hub 8TB External Desktop Hard Drive Storage (STEL8000100) for $159.99 USD + $13.96 USD Shipping. All up around ~$253 NZD if you pick USD when paying or $264 using NZD by using Amazon's converter. This is the cheapest price ever from Amazon for this drive and $20 cheaper than last time this was posted.

  • Two integrated high-speed USB 3.0 ports on the front allow you to connect and recharge your other USB devices
  • Formatted for Windows computers out of the box
  • Install the provided NTFS driver for Mac and use the drive interchangeably between Windows and Mac computers without reformatting
  • Install the free Seagate Mobile Backup app on an iOS or Android mobile device, and back up all of the photos and videos from your device to your Seagate drive or to the cloud

Saw this on OzBargain and GP Forums so must be good.

Update:

If you use your credit card and select to be charged in USD, it may end up cheaper than using Amazon's exchange rate. For example, if you have the ASB Visa Platinum then you will be paying Visa exchange rates + 2.1% (what ASB charges) for a total of $260.54. Roughly $4 better than using Amazon's conversions.

  • It's ~$265NZ using Amazon's currency conversion.

  • I don't think it's quite accurate to say "~NZD $253" when Amazon's internal exchange rate shows NZD $264.43.

    • Items: NZD 243.21
    • Shipping & handling: NZD 21.22
    • If your card offers a better exchange rate (or no fees) than Amazon then pay in USD. I just used market rate for conversion (Google).

I've changed to $260-$264 for clarity as I'm not sure what card everyone is using but 2% should be about average for most cards.

    EDIT:

Warehouse money is 2% so $260.28 NZD
