Warehouse Clearance on this phone. This phone isn't going to be great, but for $35 for a 5 inch display is definitely cheapest around. The Alcatel 4X they sell has a 4 inch display but selling for $99.
Locked to 2degrees. Note the display is very low resolution 480x854, as you can see from link below from gsmarena.

This has a MediaTek 6735M chip which scores 24,000 on the Antutu benchmark. It's from 2015 but is quad-core which puts it slightly above most phones on sale in NZ for under $80.
There are no good options below about $90, at which point you see a few phones with a 2017 Snapdragon 210 chip; these would be good first phones for children.
With a low-end phone like this you'll struggle to use it for some non-phone functions (webcam etc) because the camera and battery will constantly disappoint and the allocated space for installing apps is so small, and will become even smaller as mandatory apps like the Play Store update with larger versions in the future. You might consider using it as a dedicated kitchen clock, ebook reader, bedside alarm, or attached to an external speaker as a music player. It can also be useful to have a spare phone around in case you lose your main phone.
