  • The warehouse are doing a thing now where they don't have sales. Notice how this says nothing about a sale? These are the same toys at the same price they usually are. The only thing The Warehouse are doing is promoting them.

    • You are 100% correct. I just had a browse on some toys, no reductions or deals on them.

  • You are right. The toys advertised - Family Feud etc. were gone in first 2 minutes. Looks to be some change in the marketing team. They haven't been same on what they used to be.

  • Totally agree. Hope one of the marketing team read some of the comments here and bring back the sale.

  • Anyone got a free delivery code?

  • I heard that the Commerce Commission sent The Warehouse (and others) a warning about having too many sales, and therefore misleading the public about 'Normal' prices on items. Maybe this new strategy is the response?

    • Yeah to be fair, their new everyday price is quite low already. I noticed some toys have lower prices than the sale items at Farmers and Mightyape for example.

    Hi,

As part of the new pricing strategy initiative, The Warehouse has introduced new lines (products).
They will be introduced at a edlp (every day low price) or a promo price buy1 get1 etc to get the volumes of products bought.
If they choose to buy in more of the product/s they will be introduced at an edlp pricepoint.

We are bringing the products to you at our lowest price so they are the same price throughout the month and wholeheartedly the year.
It would be unfair for example a kid saving their pocket money to purchase something like a lol surprise doll or a barbie and then for it to go on sale the next week.

That's, why we choose to try not, do XX% off sales until particular events where stores commonly have sales (anzac, labour day, boxing, easter).

We would hate to break a kids heart thats why the pricing strategy may seem odd but it has been created to be transparent and fair.

I heard people just return the product if they see it on sale the next week to get the sale price? The broken heart theory sounds a bit ott.

    • Yeah, they're probably doing less XX%, because they switched to doing "Price Drop". Just like this one:
