WeChat Via NZGOGO - 1 Free Food/Drink Item Per Day - Free Bubble Tea/ Fried Chicken etc [Auckland Only]

330

My friend showed me this awesome freebie today using Wechat. Apparently for the entire August you can order a free food/drink item (1 item per day) - you must pick up the food at the store.

Examples of places offering freebies: Chatime, Gongcha, Momo tea, Hulucat + many more - it shows stores close to your location.

I tried this with Momo tea in Newmarket this afternoon and it is legitimate. Its mainly milk teas, but I found a place with free XL fried chicken (worth $9.50). Give it a go. I have tried to help with the setup below - I dont speak or read mandarin. It took me a while to write this out - and i'm writing this after having done the steps a few hours ago. Its best to have a mandarin speaking friend if possible but, hopefully, not neccassary with the steps below.

Step 1 - Download Wechat + signup (if you haven't already).
Step 2 - Go to https://m.gogox.co.nz/reg and register:

a) Field 1 = first enter mobile number & click on field 2
b) Field 2 = Verification code (you should get a text after entering your number) - click blue button after
c) Field 3 - Nickname
d) Field 4 = Password
e) Field 5 = re-enter password
f) tick the box and click the big green button to join

Step 3 - Open Wechat and click 'Discover'
Step 4 - Search for nzgogox & click on the first link (should say GOGO到家 with a blue circle)
Step 5 - Under the green words View & Follow you should see 3 words - click on the first 1 - this should take you to the page where you can order your free food. You should see lots of food icons - click on the bottom right icon which say free in small writing. This filters all the locations near you with free food/drink offerings.

Note: you can go straight to NZGOGO to order food via https://m.gogox.co.nz/home on your computer. When checking out you might need to login (assuming you registered) field 1 = mobile that you registered & field 2 = password.

You need to add your free item to cart (it might ask you if you want ice or normal/lower sugar in your milk tea for example when adding to cart), checkout by clicking bottom green button once item is added to cart (no credit card details necessary)

For checkout - the first field will be your 'delivery location' - just add a fake one if you need as we have to pickup the item for free. When you click this field it will take you to a new screen - click the '+' button to add your delivery location (you only need to do this once as it will save this) . The first location field is your name, then mobile, then fill out the street address - just make it up so the form is happy). Click the green button and move onto the next field.

The second field - click the green basket (this is for pick up - as opposed to the blue timer icon). Finally click the blue button to confirm your order.

  • once your checkout is complete you will get a code - just show this to the restaurant and they will give you your free item - no charge.

Where is the free icon? I'm not seeing a free icon anywhere after clicking on the first link?

      Me neither.

What the 'free' icon looks like next to MOMOTEA. 霸王餐 essentially means to dine and dash.

  • one of the few times i wish i was in Auckland

    Can't find the "free" option

    help

    • Go to the home page and you should find a list of stores. Look for the stores with a yellow bar next to it (I'm guessing it says free meals or gogo meals). There's a couple of them which offer an option of 3 free items. So far i've mostly found milk teas but some have light snacks, will try out for lunch.

  • AS OF RIGHT NOW, THE FREE ICON IS NOW SHOWN AS BEST OFFER, TO FIND THE ICON YOU HAVE TO NAVIGATE BACK TO THE MAIN PAGE.

    • where in the main page is the "best offer", i'm using google translate but still cannot find it

  • Is this going to be another free lunch month like the burger king deal last summer? Can't wait to try, I'll aim for a new store everyday!

    • Month? I still have a few bk lunches to use ;)

  • cant see best offer icon either

  • Update: They are not displaying the icon anymore, you'll have you manually look up the stores now

  • Ive gotten to cart stage but cant find any green button

    • Same-I’m assuming it’s because the restaurants aren’t open yet?

      • +1

Yes, the grey button reads store is not yet open

  • Which restaurants have the chicken? I see mostly drinks…

    • Chatime (350 Queen St), Kai Eatery.

      • Chatime it says they're out of stock

    • 快可立

      • Chatime for chicken says, 无货

    • 酒窝甜品

  • Cant search under 'Discover' only Moments, Scan QR Code, Shake, and People Nearby

Well done OP for navigating through that. I struggled getting through those steps even though I can read Chinese!

Gogo has named this the “Fried Chicken Tea Festival”. Offer is until Sept 9.
The yellow label beside the restaurant name says “free meal”, so just look for those.
Fried chicken: If you go to the main page, click on the picture icon with the meat roasting over the fire (1st icon on the second row), you’ll see all the places with fried/roast meals. Look for the yellow label. A few of them are karaoke bars, so you’d probably have to pay for access for the free chicken/drink.
Milk tea: you can also find some of them using the above method. But there seems to be more in the icon which says “sale”. (Third icon on the second row)

    • Update: the “free” icon on the main page (last icon on the second row) lists all the free offers

  • Update: FREE ICON IS BACK ONLINE

  • Not that this isnt a great thing but just be careful with these sorts of apps, they are known to steal information and hack your social media accounts.

    • For what it's worth the only information they ask for is a phone number.

      • In Asia you get a lot of spam to your mobile though

    Confirm working

  • 挺好用的。just order a free drink with free delivery

  • Just tried, stuff is still free but the stores seem to not allow pick up anymore. Have to use the delivery service which is around $7.50 off your first delivery fee.

    • Yeah not expecting the freebie to last from much smaller stores, unlike BK or Z lol

    • +2

I just want the fried chicken. Do they still work??

      • yea fried chicken and milk tea is free still just not allow pick up which would require you to use their shipping service. First time shipping is still 7.50 off so it makes a reasonable distance free shipping. But the comment below says pick up is allowed between 3.30-5 so Im not too sure, will have to try again at 3.30.

  • Just spoke to the reps, they said after 3:30-5 you can pickup for free

    • are you able to pick up? I cant

      • Yea i still cant pick up anything… unless he means AFTER 5 u can pick up and not between 3.30-5pm.

        • +1

I just tried, ordered legit after 3:30 and pickup option was unlocked

        • @NeverLucky: I tried at 4:30 and didn't work for me. What store did you choose?

        • @jessica0811: at one point gogo did temporarily close their ordering systems and that was around 4, but it should've been working around 4:30 I chose chatime at 350 Queen Street.

  • As of tonight (10/Aug/2018):
There is no pickup for free items (this is pasted on their wechat page due to amount of fraudulent orders)
Also there is no free delivery with free items anymore either (they will send you a txt saying the order has been cancelled)

I managed to get a free tea this afternoon but had to pick up myself although I chose free delivery (got a phone call saying I have to wait 1+ hour otherwise for delivery, since I work in city it's easier for me to pick it up).

They also do not accept credit card payment only Poli I dont think this service is gonna last.

    • Do they still follow the rule saying that you can go and pick it up yourself during 3:30-5?

Because that was the case today, I got a text this afternoon around 2 saying my order has been canceled making us pay either one or the other. Like you mentioned, free food pay delivery, pay food, free delivery. I however spoke to the chatime reps at 350 Queen Street and they said that you could pick it up yourself at the shop during 3:30-5:00

  • Hello, all the stores will no allow for pickup and delivery is minimum $5 . Any way around this?

  • Just tried now at MomoTea Albany, and isn't completely free anymore. Need delivery fee like everyone else has said… So this deal is now goners?

    • Yep goners it was a good 2 days.

+1 for OP for detailed instructions and effort, despite no fried chicken for me
