I saw a banner advert for Burger King deals on GrabOne on NZ Herald (NZME). But the funny thing is the deals https://new.grabone.co.nz/region/c/burger-king are just 3 of the standard coupon deals that they have via their mailer http://bk-apac-prd.s3.amazonaws.com/sites/burgerking.co.nz/f… which can nowadays also be used via the app. (I recognised the Whopper Junior deal and checked the other 2.) Yet 1000+ people have 'purchased' 2 of the deals in just a day so I guess these have possibly been successful. (There can't be that many people who accidentally purchase 2 like me.)
I say 'purchased' because although these deals have a deal limit etc, you don't actually need to pay for it via GrabOne. They just tell you to use the standard code. I'm surprised they didn't at least make it a different code so they can better track the success of this promotion although I guess they've been running the same deals for so long they probably have enough data to detect any uptick.
GrabOne is part of NZME so I guess there's no direct cost to them from this but I wonder what the arrangement between Burger King and GrabOne is.
not sure what the arrangement is, but seems like many people aren't aware of the burger king coupons hence the purchase numbers you see.
Disappointing promo as the last good grabone "big deal" they had was $2 value pizzas from dominos which was actually a deal.
