    This feels legit.

Is this a scam. There seems to be many $1 scooters available

    • Thanks for the information. I still can't get the page loaded. I guess it's better to get out of it.

I went onto trade me and searched ninebot-segway and it came up with the $1 buy now. I kept refreshing the page and the $1 deal was there for a long time until trade me admin removed it

TM feedback suggests that they're legit.

Think they either made an error and will probably refund or will be breaking TM rules by not fulfilling according to order agreements.

Just recieved urgent contact from TM saying the item was in breach of their ToS and was likely a scam. I paid the $31 thru ping so all was refunded but this goes to show their was def something fishy going on.

      Got the same email. Negged.

Though I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that OP just made an error thinking they could run something like this on TM.

I spoke to the lister on the phone. Think he just made an error thinking he could do this. He said everyone will get refunded if you choose not to accepthis fixed offer.

Yeah the account posting this deal seems to really be associated with Ninebot going from previous history so unless it was hacked I doubt it's a scam. These sort of 'Seckill'/ultra limited quantity flash deals are very common in China, but of course don't necessarily fit with the norms and rules in NZ. They probably especially don't fit well with a third party site like Trademe not set up to offer them.

So if this is not a scam, aren't they suppose to announce the winner by now?

    • I think they just give u a fixed price offer of whatever place you got and just get in contact with the winner. I got fixed price offer of $899 so im guessing i wasnt the first buyer

    • Got email saying they are still going ahead with the competition, but due to the number of entries they'll need up to 7 working days to sift through and pick the winners.

Also said they'll provide refunds for anyone not keen to complete the transaction.

  • Hi, i bought this $1 deal on trademe. But can someone explain to me, what competition is this? I thought this is a $1 buy now deal for the first few buyers?

    • You're partly right but it's only one buyer getting the $1 price, one $299 and one $599 with the rest possibly getting it at $899. But Trademe isn't really set up for that kind of deal. Well I mean they could do it via different links and quantities but that isn't how they tried to do it, so they instead just posted a generic deal but are I guess going to manually sort through buyer and find out who got it at $1. It's probably a little complicated given the cancellation and warning from Trademe is likely to mean people may reject the deal especially those who didn't get position 1.
