$5 Flat Rate For Any Rides Within 10km @ Ola Cabs

22
5FLAT

Looks like this deal is back on. I used it last Friday to get from Auckland CBD to Greenlane (was a 25min ride with heavy traffic) and it worked fine, code brought it down from $24 to $5. Also, I'm not a new user so can confirm this works for existing users. Not sure if it is targeted.

My personal experience - I have taken 4 rides with Ola before and had no issues.

  • Dude, not allowed referral codes in description - if it's not working, contact a mod.

It's 10FLAT in Wellington. Twice the price!

I'm fairly certain that they're targeted, because the deal I've received is 10km for $10. Codes are applied by Ola themselves, and never seem to work when entered manually.

    • Might be targeted by area if you are in Wellington like the other commenter who has the same deal as you. I got a notification with the code, then put in my destination and clicked confirm, then right before payment I put in my code and it brought it down to $5 after I entered it.

      • I'm in Auckland, and I always seem to get lesser deals than the ones that get posted here, so I'm interested to know how this actually works.

        • Wow okay, I seem to be getting a notification of a deal frequently, even the last time this was posted. Don't know what I'm doing right lol.

Maybe they are just trialing to see how many people use promo codes on a small subset of people so it's not too much of a risk for them. $5 for 10km is a steal

          • @rban945: I get the notifications, but they're always for deals that are double the price of the fantastic ones that get posted on here. You get $5 for 10km, I get $10 for 10km, there was a deal for 50% off all rides, and I received 25% off.

I've used Ola quite a bit already, so I'm wondering if that is what decides which offer tier you receive.

Ola are certainly trying hard to build up their userbase by offering such crazy deals. $5 for 10km is insane value - at that price you can use them in place of public transport.

  • Yeah they're crafty like that, mostly targeted

  • …these are targeted, no point in posting these every week. if you have the app, if this code is valid for you, you would get an email and a push notification (and will appear in the app). posting them here is completely useless. correct me if im wrong?

    • Well it seems a bit hit and miss. Some previous posts on Ola codes look fine, others don't.

No one knows if this was targeted (now it appears to be after others have commented), hence the post, and hence the "Not sure if targeted" in the description. No harm done.

Fair enough. my post was mainly pointing out the fact that this same code was posted about a week ago: https://www.cheapies.nz/node/18944
Then we have the whole history of posts about ola: https://www.cheapies.nz/search/node/ola
pretty much 100% of those are targeted. if any of them were available for for you, you get emailed/texted/push-notified/spammed about them. Basically, anyone with ola gets spammed by them with offers as it is, there is almost 0 reason to post ola deals (if past deals are to go by), unless it is for free advertising reasons (and referral money, which by the way, gets removed from your account with no refund or explanation if you dont use them quickly).
understand if you didn't realise, no harm done, im just pointing out my observations.

  • Targeted. Tried and didn't work

  • Not working for me
