Fonterra Super Card - Fuel Discounts 16c a Litre + Other Discounts (Dont Need to Be a Farmer)

160

Thought others might like this - sign up for a SuperCard and get some pretty good fuel discounts anytime from a range of brands as well as discounts at other places like Bunnings.

I am using this card and ditched my Z card which had fees and less discount! Overall after 6 months the experience is very good, one monthly invoice for fuel (and any spending you do at Fonterra stores, which for me is none). There are no card fees and the 16c at Mobil anytime is great. Even at Bunnings you get about 5-10% off your price when they scan your card at the counter (you then pay cash) - not on all products and its a bit random which applies- but its worth a scan each time.

You dont have to be a farmer or have any association to one to get one, I sure dont have any.

SuperCard gives you access to great deals at more than 2000 retailers across the country. Purchases are charged to your Farm Source account so you enjoy the convenience of one monthly bill plus up to 50 days interest free.

Use your SuperCard as a fuel card and save

Mobil - Save 16 cents per litre off the retail pump price
Z Energy - Save 11 cents per litre off the retail pump price
Caltex - Save 6 cents per litre off the retail pump price

So this is effectively a credit card?

    • Probably best analogy would be like a farmers card without the interest rate as its monthly invoice and direct debit and credit is only 1 month then you have to pay it all. Can use it for fuel and fonterra stuff on credit and a discount card where you pay cash elsewhere.

  • "…You might need to have a company in your name and possibly a GST number…" Probably need clarification whether the above is required for this to be a deal applicable for most people here; not everyone is as rich as you to have companies in our names mate!

you can apply as individual, no company needed

Hilarious you think having either makes you rich. You can register for both online for a few hundred dollars. But as others have now said it appears you don't need them.

You only need a GST number if your business is making over $60,000 per year in transactions … so if you've got a GST number, then you must be rich. ;-)

Need to at 60k yes. But it's hardly rich as it's revenue not profit you could be making a enormous loss. Also anyone can register even if you have less revenue than 60k or even zero. You just file a zero return each year which is online and free to do.

  • Can anyone confirm if a gst is required?

    • No GST number is required for an individual application

      • Given this.. I edited it to save confusion. It must have changed but even easier now

  • Do you get 6c off with AA Smart fuel/Mobil Smile on top of these fuel discounts?

    • No it's one or the other

  • Okay Meridan, looks interesting but did a search of retailers in Taranaki and MOST show no discount, only that you can use your card with that business, guess it might be worth having for tyres, paint and petrol? Am I reading this correctly or are there discounts with all retailers but they are so standard they are not displaying?

    • I primarily use it as a fuel card which it works well as I keep card in each car for the family and get one monthly bill and there are no fees for cards and when say putting in 60L saving an extra 16c is not bad - I have also shown it at Bunnings where on some items (no idea which or why) have some reasonable discounts and then other things have nothing. Never tried it other places

If you dont want to use it as a fuel card then probably not worth the hassle.

  • I wonder if you can use Mobil smiles card along with this to obtain the reward points?

  • What Main Industry/Business Type do you select and what is the Number to enter when you register?

    • whatever you work in i did, what number do you mean?

  • Can you use the card just for the fuel discount and pay by your own eftpos / credit card, or a gift card from petrol station listed above?

    • No. As the discount for fuel comes off the invoice on the pump and receipt it's the full price

  • Got mine in mail and it wont work at Allied Fuel Stops. :(
