I've found that 2GB RAM to be on the small side for Android these days with bloated OS versions and apps running. Hopefully the 3GB RAM 32GB ROM price isn't too far off in terms of price.

    • Also don't believe these have band 28 which may result in iffy network especially in rural areas.

aliexpress has a xiaomi sale now.

    16gb is 120 USD
    32gb is 127 USD

    which is cheaper that banggood.
use kiwiwallet or your favorite cashback link site for 5-6% more.

    • Thanks! 3GB RAM 32GB ROM is NZ$180.35 on Aliexpress.

  • Do you have any cashback site recommend? I have see someone post shoprewards website on cheapies but not sure whether it's legit?

    • not a user of that site. I use kiwiwallet (NZ), topcashback (US) and cashrewards(AU) they have all paid me.

      • I've never really used cashback services/sites before. I presume that you have to go to the cashback site and click on the referral/redirected link to e.g. Aliexpress, in order for them to detect your purchases on there? OR, can you simply just go straight to Aliexpress and purchase something and then provide a receipt to the cashback site?

If it's the former, then this raises a few questions…

        1. Security - is it a good idea for cashback sites to have access to your Aliexpress / Ebay / whatever accounts?

        2. Sometimes, you get better discounts using the Aliexpress mobile app. It even says so on their website that if you use the mobile app to view the same listing, then you get more discounts. I guess cashback won't work if you browse Aliexpress directly via their mobile app?

        • yup.. you get a link from them. Do not know the internal pumbling with them but I've been using them for over a decade now ( different sites before ) and it has saved me lots of money.

yes, they get paid by Aliexpress through the affiliate links - and they pay you a % of it. They don't get paid, user don't get paid. Usually with these sites, any coupons invalidate the affiliate cash.

          • @huffboy: I see. Some of the coupons on Aliexpress are not global coupons though. Sometimes, the merchant / seller themselves will offer their own store coupons via the Aliexpress coupon system. So if you apply those coupons, you won't get paid by Kiwiwallet, even though you clicked on the affiliate link to Aliexpress via their website?

So do you basically have to pay the full non-coupon/discount price via the affiliate link? Do you find that this saves you a lot more money (via cashbacks) in comparison to getting a direct discount from the coupons? Because to me, getting cashback is still another process you'd have to go through…

How long does it take for you to get the cashback? Is this an automated process, or do you have to fill some forms to claim the cashback?

            • @NovaAlpha: Check the T&C of the site you are using.. most of them usually have a clause that states the use of coupons invalidates cashback.

They are usually automated - I use topcashback for aliexpress (6%). When you visit the site with their link ( it is date/time stamped in their site in the logs ). Once I receive the item a month later or what - and I click "recieved" in my aliexpress account - the cashback is "released" and I get some notification email and amount shown and is pending for a few weeks before being available to cash out. Whole process takes a few months from end to end.

I'll be honest. Its a pain and not 100% fool proof. There have been times I didnt get anything and had to file more paperwork.
If there is a outright coupon - I'd go with that, not worth the trouble for a few bucks.
But I will still use the link just in case I get lucky ( nothing to lose ).

              • @huffboy: I see. I'll give it a go as well. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Why did you get it to replace your Note 5? Your Note 5 has better specs.
