At least past Nougat 7.1 and has had an update after all the wifi security holes were exposed. Stock firmware doesn't come with Google Play services but can be rooted.

The chip is a MediaTek MT8163 (4x A53 @ 1.3Ghz), which is typical for lower-priced tablets, and you'll notice lag sometimes compared to modern phones when switching apps or scrolling in the browser.
