Free $5 Countdown, FreshChoice or SuperValue Gift Card with Purchase of Cadbury Dairy Milk 180g (e.g. $3 at Countdown)

390

This was posted on OzBargain but now available to New Zealand. Every entry wins a gift card.

So $2 profit on each chocolate. Maximum 4 claims per household.

Just need to submit the receipt and write any of the following words:

cadbury, share, family, cat, bury, hare, are, do, rub, Share, love and Yum.

The words are on the chocolate themselves, not the wrapper.

Winners will be notified on screen at the time of claiming and their prize will be delivered to the address provided on the claim form within 28 business days.

All specially marked chocolates have words on them

Also make sure you don't just hit back when doing more than one claim. Refresh the page or hit the button to enter details.

If you buy from Fresh Choice, you only end up getting a 180 gram block voucher, and not a $5 voucher. Better to just buy from Countdown. (thanks nzmax)

  • Looks like a great deal.
    T&C https://cadburyfreeblocks.com/terms
Prizes relating to a Qualifying Purchase from a Woolworths or Countdown Store will be awarded in the form of a $5 Woolworths e-gift card (Australia) or a $5 Countdown gift card (New Zealand).
For the avoidance of doubt, the Woolworths e-gift card and Countdown gift card (as applicable) is not required to be used to purchase a 180g block of Cadbury Dairy Milk.

Great Deal Mate… But if i buy 4 blocks then will i get $20 gift card or $5?

    • $20, unless I'm mistaken.

    • I don't know, It says "You can claim a maximum of four times per household. Each claim must be submitted separately in accordance with these Terms and Conditions."
So depends if you can submit the same receipt more than once or not maybe..

    • $20. $5 x 4.

  • It says there are various moulds, do we know if there are certain word combos that work/don't work?
I don't want to get done for fraud or anything because I put the wrong words together…

      • The words are moulded into the chocolate pieces - it's basically a WordFind puzzle on the chocolate bar itself.

      • Did you pick up the specially marked pack? Should look like the one in the link or on Countdown's site.

    • I saw milk chocolate bars only, none of the nuts which I like :(

      • I'm pretty sure it's only the standard 'Dairy Milk' bars that have been made for this 'competition', not any of the flavour varieties.

        • Yep, only Dairy Milk, none of the other varieties have the specially marked packaging.

  • This isn't really a "Deal". It is is a "Comp" … you're meant to buy the bars and enter the words you find on it. I'm guessing that not all of the 'specially marked' bars will have words on them, so entering words listed above is simply cheating. :-(

    • Unfortunately, cheating seems allow on cheapies, which is very sad.

      • It doesn't bother me about the codes being shared, but IF not all bars are 'winners' (although it seems like they apparently are), then using the codes for buying non-winning bars would definitely be cheating and "naughty".

All of the chocolates have words on them. 100% of them. They are generic. You still need to purchase them as you need a receipt.

      • Even with the only four per household limit, it seems a bit ridiculous that Cadbury can afford to pay you almost double what you paid for the bar - they'd be losing huge amounts of money if it is every bar.

        • I suspect Progressive is part of the deal and absorbed some or all of that cost, probably cheaper than running some kind of loss leader promotions.

  • All bars certainly appear to be winners, but not all bars appear to be the same,
opened one of my four bars and it didnt have Love, Creamy, Choc, Friends, Yum.
But did have cadbury, share, family, cat, bury, hare, are, do, rub.

not sure if you should use for example cadbury and bury at the same time.

    • Thanks updated.

      • Thats presuming Cadbury are smart enough to load subwords, i.e,
bury in cadbury and hare and are in share. I just stuck with
cadbury, family and share for all four of our claims.

    • Yes all the bars I have opened have been winners.

      Different words on each bar.
One bar had Share, Cadbury and Yum.
The next bar had Love, Ream and Cadbury.

I still don't know if you are allowed to do Diagonal words or backwards words.
If you are allowed diagonal and backwards you can get 10+ words per bar.

  • huh, just noticed this after submitting:
"fill out claim form incl. receipt upload & any 3 words that appear on unwrapped block to get a 180g Cadbury Dairy Milk block, awarded as $5 gift card "

how can you find words on an unwrapped block???

    • Mondelez folks forgot to proof read, not at all surprising :)

    • +5

How would you find words on the block if it was still wrapped, rather than unwrapped?

Great thanks, Now if online I could find someone to trade it to for Whittaker’s chocolate bars.

    • +2

that's going to be very hard :D

      • +6

Maybe I could do the ultimate betrayal and buy $20 worth of Whittaker’s chocolate with the coupon I get from Cadbury.

        • I think I will do the exact same thing!

  • Does the voucher get mailed?

  • It said, ".. awarded as $5 Woolworths e-gift card (AU), Countdown gift card (NZ) or SuperValue/FreshChoice Cadbury Block coupon."

They might send you the coupon instead.

    • Is that mean if u buy it from countdown they will send you gift card

      • Could be.

  • Can I claim 4 with the same receipt or they have to be separate receipt?

    • +2

Same receipt however just make sure you refresh the page either manually or clicking the button.

      • Hi,

Do you mean that we have to submit the same claim / receipt four times, or one claim for all four?

        Thanks,

        Alan.

        • Submit it 4 times using the same receipt.

  • +1

If you buy from freshchoice, you only end up getting a 180 gram block voucher, and not a $5 voucher. So you may want to update the heading on this to correct it.

    • Thanks, put a note there.

  • I keep getting this error when i fill out the form on a laptop:

There were errors with your entry
    The address.country field is required.

But ive filled in every field correctly.

    • Thanks to Cheapies, we have crashed the website :)

  • No matter which web browser I use (Safari, Chrome, or Firefox), once I try to submit the claim webform, it always comes back with an error:

There were errors with your entry
    The address.country field is required.

but there is no box to enter a country - just Street, Suburb, Postcode, and Region. :-(

    • Thanks. Just tried it again now and it worked okay using Safari.

      Very weird.

  • Just did the 2 blocks for 5 bux.
They validated my submission within 10 minutes by email. Voucher in 28 business days.

    Awesome deal.
Cadbury, creamy and love were on my blocks, both exactly the same

  • does this apply to other versions of this eg oreo/mint/almond/blackforest etc?

    • Nope.

  • This is a brilliant deal!
I love the line in the T&C's "Words you may find on your specially marked block include, but are not limited to, Cadbury, Love, Creamy, Choc, Friends, Yum, Family, Share." That's a bit of a giveaway!

    It's a shame it's limited to 4 per household…

    • +1

Yep, we got our two on Saturday as well.

  • +1

Two blocks for $5 this week for anyone that missed out last time.

  • Still nothing in the mail :( not the most professional response from Cadbury either

    • Just FYI, I waited about 30 days (was promised 28 days) for gift cards to reach me.

      • Our first gift card (or maybe two) arrived very quickly, but the other two / three are taking far longer. They probably got inundated with requests, especially as it was open to Australians as well.

        • Our third gift card finally arrived today. Just waiting for the fourth / last one now (both were entered on the website at the same time). :-)

  • Good to know I'm not the only one who has been waiting.

    • Yeah I got an email saying that my claim was approved on 19 July and that the card will arrive within 28 days, yet I haven't received till now and neither had my partner and daughter that live with me. A reply from Cadbury was " please contact us if you haven't received the cards by next week" - I got 3 exact same replies like that so far, pretty ridiculous!:(
