Its a good price, Yes, so not raining the OP thread, but just more of a PSA. Fundamentally these are real sh$t. I have given up on these as they just warp (gas in my use case) and loose their nonstick coating so quickly its not funny (even when being careful, plastic utensils, etc). I would keep the receipt and take it back after a few months when its annoying you and get them to replace it…if you can be bothered.
I gave up on them and have spent more for a more solid one that so far is lasting far better.

    • I've found these kmart pans to be amazing https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/28cm-stone-blast-frypan/2408…

    • Are you using them at the correct temperature? High heat will typically damage non stick coatings. I've had one of these for a year and it's still going fine. I find these to be a lot better than the Zip Elites that they have, those are among the worst pans I've ever used.

      • I do have a wee wtf moment when I read things saying that you shouldn't use frying pans with high heat. Cold Frying is such an under rated method of cooking these days ;P
Wouldn't it be like having a kettle/jug that can only be used 75% of the way to the full mark. Or a microwave that explodes if you use it at 100% power.
But yeah, its a thing, in the fine print of pretty much all these pans. The cast iron is the only real full/fool proof way of frying (although I have yet to venture to cast iron)

A cast iron frying pan and a carbon steel wok are my go-tos. They can take all temperatures, all utensils, and are compatible with all heating elements. The only drawback is that you have to spend time cleaning and seasoning them. It's worth it, though. I really only use the non stick pan for cooking eggs, and it's great at it.

        • On the topic of carbon steel woks — down to $19.99 from $79.99!
