  Also a reminder that for Countdown, 5 for $7 means $1.40 each after 5. You don't have to buy in multiples of 5, just at least 5. (Don't try this with Pak'n'save. AFAIK their deals always do require multiples of whatever.)

    Not sure about this I have bought something for 2 for $5 in countdown before but the 3rd one just come out with the original price

      I don't shop much in Countdown, but it's always worked for me for quite a few years including when I did shop a bit more. However I did a quick test with their online shopping and it looks like you're right, sometimes it doesn't, although it does work for these Tuna cans. (5 for $7, 6 for $8.40, 7 for $9.80.)

      The one which didn't work was https://shop.countdown.co.nz/shop/productdetails?stockcode=3…, 3 are $20, 4 are $28, and 6 are $40.

      When I first noticed this a few years back, I also noticed that the products were also priced accordingly, like the Special Blend Instant Coffee is 3 for $4.98, not 3 for $5.00. They used to show the $4.98 in the mailer although the latest one just says 3 for $5 so possibly their advertising is also not so reliable anymore. The sausages where it doesn't work, are 3 for $20. Main reason I tested them. This doesn't help with most products anyway since 2 for $5.00 is what you'd expect whether or not they let you get 3 for $7.50.

      Since it mostly seems to work, it's probably still worth trying and cancelling before checkout if it doesn't work for that product. Especially for stuff like this where it's a choice between 5 or 10, so it's easy that one is too few and the other a few too many.
