5% Bonus Credit for Countdown Christmas Club @ Countdown

90

Summary: Bonus 5% credit for amounts added before 1 December 2019, Bonus credit can be used December 2019/ January 2020, and rest of funds at any time.

Countdown has their annual Christmas club where any amounts you add to the card up to the 30th of November 2019, will receive a 5% bonus you can use December 2019/ January 2020. What is cool is you get free bonus money around Christmas time and there is nothing to lose as any unused bonus (if any left) is carried to the next Christmas period and you can use the rest of the funds you added all year round :D. So if you would normally spend $1,000 on grocery over a year you can add $1,000 to the card and in Dec/Jan you would have $1,050 to spend and the checkout automatically uses the bonus $50 first then the $1,000 you added that you would have spent anyway!!. See T&C's here but get in soon as there is only 10 days left!! https://www.countdown.co.nz/about-us/terms-and-conditions/pr…

"During the months of December and January, when you spend your Christmas Club funds in-store, the bonus amounts will be redeemed first, followed by top-ups in the order they were added to your account" "The maximum balance your account can hold is $4,999"

  • Do my topup expired if I didn't use it all within a year? Or it will carry forward forever?

  • Saw Pak n Save's the other day. I believe it gives $5.36 for every $5 if Im right. Wanting to join one of these , so following this thread. Thanks op.

  • Not That easy to find, but PnS only gives $5.17 for every $5 deposited at this stage of the year. So countdown gives 5%, PnS 3.4% in bonus credits

  • Anyone know if you can top up with a credit card? (it says online banking).

Also can you use for online shopping?

    • No to both questions.

      • Cheers

  • Got mine at the register (need to ask for the card, not the Christmas Club vouchers).
For Christmas Club vouchers, you probably can pay by credit card at the counter. But for Christmas Club card, you need to register online first and then make bank transfer (no credit card payment). They are similar (i.e. 5% bonus & only use in store), but the vouchers come with specific amount (like $10, $20 etc)
