Brother DCPL3551CDW Colour Laser All in One $319.99 ($169.99 after Brother Cashback) @ The Market

110
FRIENDS30

Posting my first deal. Hope it will benefit someone here in the cheapies community.

This is the best price I have ever seen this Colour Laser Printer all in one.
I have been needing a new printer for a while now and finally the cashback and sale price have all come at the same time. Combine it with the market $30 off coupon to bring it $30 cheaper than the lowest on pricespy. The Market have a tendency to drop the sale pricing before the main stores do so get in quick to secure one.

On sale @ The Market (Noel Leeming store) for $349.99
Add coupon code FRIENDS30 for $30 off $200+ (Expires Tonight 28/11/2019)
Or the market coupon $30 off $250+ found in the coupons tab
Brother cashback $150 (Expires 01 Dec 2019)
I also signed up to TheMarket Club trial for free shipping

I am also testing out kiwiwallet.co.nz for their 4% cashback at The Market to see if it works or not so haven't added that discount in. I have not used this before so will see how it goes and will comment if anything comes through. Could be another $12.80 cashback if this system functions as advertised.

  • This is a really good deal if I haven't bought the black and white one…

  • Anyone else been able to purchase this? I am getting to the checkout and getting "There is an item which is no longer available, please remove this item before proceeding to checkout"

    • If I put it in my cart I can get right through to the pay now button without any errors.

    • Works for me, just bought one.

  • does anyone know if the colour runs out you can still print black n white?

I couldn't find the answer on Brother NZ or the user manual. But I did find a way to make it last as long as possible.
I'm not sure if you can but I did find that you should set the driver to use mono by default as printers can print blacks with colour if it can't determine if it is black only required.

Also the us site has this FAQ answer that applies to the MFCL3770CDW model. I believe it uses the same internal components. They do not sell this DCPL3551CDW model over there so could be why its not on the list of models on the FAQ

      • Thanks for the research!

i'm still on the fence about getting one, i only print in black n white

        • In that case you are probably better off going for a mono printer. If you don't want the scanner they are heaps cheaper. Looks like the cheapest Brother mono all in one is currently on sale at noel leeming but not on the market so you can't get the extra coupon discounts.

Thats cheap for a colour laser, but beware of replacement toner costs!
I dont print much but when my mono laser runs out of juice i will just replace it as the last 3 i've bought cost either $0 or very little with cashback.
I sell the old printers for $1 reserve so it can be reused.

  • Been a while since I bought a brother printer, but does it come with a toner cartridge or need to buy first one separately? Thanks

    • I haven't come across a printer that doesn't come with the toner/ink cartridge out of the box before, just checked the website:

      In the box
      Contents
Inbox Toner - Up to 1,000 pages Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, Drum unit, Waste Toner Box, Belt Unit, Power supply cord, Product safety guide, Software disc, User guide, Warranty card, Quick setup guide
      https://www.brother.co.nz/printers/colour-laser-printers/dcp…

      • Yeah all printers to my knowledge come with ink/toner, normally a low yield one or a special one which prints even less.

      • Thanks ;)

      • Thanks :)

  • Thanks, I have purchased the printer. Random question, I used the MarketClub trial for free shipping on it - presumably I can just cancel before the trial ends to avoid monthly charges?

    • Thats what I plan to do. It does say just to cancel before the trial ends

  • Another question - for claiming the cash back - what is the receipt, store of purchase and store location if purchased through The Market? Thanks.

    • The receipt I was emailed from the market has Noel leeming on it and has an order number you can use as receipt, and you do have the option of the store being online so that should work fine. I hope it does as I have bought one for me and one for my parents.

      • Thank you :) I think there is a scroll-down option to "specify the dealer" (ie, manually type it in) which could be the workaround for online purchases.

  • My order was cancelled. :(

    • Oh that's stink. Mine arrived this afternoon. I've just put through the cashback form.
