Why's that?
I'm assuming its coz they are a shitty business that buys out all other businesses in the eyewear industry therefore basically holding a monopoly on all the glasses and sets any price they feel like. Frames are cheap to make, probably only a few dollars and these guys are charging a few hundred dollars for it. Basically all your high end Gucci, LV etc branded glasses are just glasses made by them with the brand stamped on it.

Not sure if we can blame Luxottica. I have bought the Rayban Aviator with Polarised lenses plus Titanium frame for around 150NZD from Amazon US, couple of years ago. Same time the similar item was priced north of NZD250 locally.

Having said that I always do some online price analysis. if NZ prices are within a reasonable range of non local prices, I go with local.
