Got an email that a bunch of game developers have started an initiative to offer their games free and removing in app purchases and ads.
The games seem mostly from NZ studios at the moment but it's open to developers globally so hopefully more will pop up.
We believe games have the potential to make the world a slightly better place and support people at a time when they really need help.
Auckland-based studio JaffaJam, supported by the New Zealand Game Developers Association, announced the joinourbubble.org initiative this week, with the goal of helping make the world a better place during the COVID-19 lockdown, by offering old or new games for FREE and removing any IAP or advertising.
JoinOurBubble has already seen seven games released FREE and additional games are in the pipeline as more studios come on board.
The team at JaffaJam has switched over all of its resources to make games that either help relieve stress or anxiety, or assist home learning for kids whose education has been disrupted massively overnight.
