Thanks Wakrak for the coupon :)

    • Damn this is cheap! Any idea what's the Adobe RGB coverage for these?

      • The normal standard ~90% srgb

    • Tried to order the FHD 27" - but there's an estimated delivery of 18 November.
Don't buy if you want it quickly.

There is one thing very risky.
Dell do not guarantee you a prefect screen.
They can sell you a monitor with at most 5 dead pixels.
If you want to replace it, you need to pay for the shipping

The Restocking Fees is 15% of the product, which is $65 in this case.

And the chance for the dead pixels on a 4k monitor is pretty high.

      • I believe this monitor is covered by Dell's 'premium panel exchange' which means you can get a free panel replacement if a single bright or dead pixel is found within the 3 year warranty period. It also has comes with their 'advanced exchange service' so you get sent the replacement monitor before you return the faulty one.

        • Premium Panel Guarantee:
Bright subpixel = 1 or more
Dark subpixel = 6 or more

          • @Tomo: Oh, that is unfortunate. Thank you for the clarification!

Dell should definitely be more forthcoming about what the premium panel exchange covers.

    • 5 dead pixels sends fine to me for a monitor with 8 million pixels.

It's not about how many pixels in total.

It's about some black holes in your screen.

The S3221QS I bought a month ago has perfect screen.

        • awsome - just bought this !

        • How you finding the S3221QS? I was going to get two 27", but am tempted to get just the one S3221QS instead. I have seen others mention the colours not looking too good (washed out) on the S3221QS due to it being a VA panel.

@Gatkins: I just ordered another S3221QS for my wife today, so I have bought two S3221QS in two months. I would say it's a good monitor for the discounted price. But I don't recommend it to people who don't have a display calibration tool.

            • The S3221QS must be calibrated before use, the colour out box is terrible (washed out) . After calibration, the colours looking very good, I feel it's better than my IPS Dell U2713H. A used Spyder 4 is good enough for calibration, about $50 - $80 on Trademe.

            • The internal speakers have low level hissing issues. It's annoying. Link: https://www.dell.com/community/Monitors/U3818DW-low-level-hi…

            • One S3221QS can't replace two 27", it's not that big.

            • @baikal: @baikal Thanks for the reply. I have bit the bullet and bought it. I huge wait for delivery (end of November), but I guess that gives me time to try and find a calibration tool - nothing on trademe at the moment, hopefully something comes up. Any other brands/models I should look out for?

I figured why not try out a big 4K curved screen for something different. I currently have two 25" screens, but they are due for replacement and I want taller screens I can see more lines of code on, as opposed to wider. With this 32" monitor I can likely fit two coding screens side-by-side, but have massive height. So its likely it can replace the other option of two 27" monitors, plus I can then also use it as one screen for gaming, etc.

  • Any high refresh rate monitors?

  • Like Zyo commented - "Any high refresh rate monitors" for recommendation?

    • Saw an alienware 25inch 240gz ips for 500. But it's full hd only though

  • Not accepting credit cards…

    • I noticed this as well. I tried to order something last week and it was the same - been down for almost 7 days.
This tends to suggest to me that they are looking to avoid credit card fees. Though Id be surprised, I wonder if this is a cashflow issue??

      • The information to make a bank transfer was vague, conflicting and barely understandable. I literally thought it might have been a scam website.

I got through it though, shipped quickly and the monitor is great. Wouldn't be surprised if they were having issues though, based on the website.
