Get $10 When You Sign up to Shop Rewards Using a Referral Code in November

70

Get double the usual incentive ($10 rather than $5) when you sign up with Shop Rewards using someone's referral code during November.

It's completely free to sign up, just use one of the referral codes from this site (above), and get $10 free when you create a (free) account. Shop Rewards is a cashback website, where you are able to get cash back from shopping at one of the websites on their site. I use it frequently and find it works really well!

      • clicked random singed up but only got $5

        • Same only $5

            @LeraNZ: Same here. Only $5.

It really doesn't seem clear how this works and what the criteria for the $10 is? Email says "get $10 for every friend you refer". No asterisk or T&Cs presented on how or when I qualify for the $10.

Very poorly worded email and promotion.

              @netwalk: Thanks for your feedback.

We will pass this to the team. More information is available on our website once login - Refer a Friend page.

The referral bonus ($5) for new sign up will be credited manually once we have completed the verification. Please give us some time.

If you have just signed up today, we have credited the bonus.

              Sorry for any inconvenience.

              Thanks.

          • @LeraNZ: We have credited the bonus into your account.

Hi, the referral bonus has been credited.
          Thanks.

          • @ShopRewards: Hey there,
I have also signed up with a random referral code on 24 Nov and just got $5 credit. I have referred others but they only received $5 too. Can you please help?

              @Magmags: Hi,

              Sure, not a problem.

Can you please private message your username/email address?

              Thanks.

  • Caveat Emptor.
I wouldn’t trust this website with my personal data.
    • Their website is riddled with grammatical and spelling errors, which doesn’t exactly inspire trust.
    • Their privacy policy, particularly around data security, is mostly marketing fluff.
    • Their only listed contact method is a web form
    • They don’t appear to disclose their ownership or offer any proof that they are in fact a New Zealand owned company. There does not appear to be a registered company with the name “Shop Rewards” or any of the variations I tried.
    • The domain registration is in the name of a web hosting company in Christchurch, and the technical contact is a marketing/SEO company in Auckland, however the director/shareholder of both of those companies appear to be related.
    • The Christchurch company appears to be one of dozens owned by that person, all based out of a commercial cleaning premises.
    • The aforementioned Christchurch company director appears to be using that office as their address rather than their residential address, in breach of the Companies Act

      • Just replied. Sorry for the late response.

Wow.. I trust you must have spent quite some time to do this. Thank you.

Sure, you won't find ShopRewards in Company Register as it has not yet been registered.
Thus, it is not a company.
However, it has been reserved as a company name.

      So, who founded ShopRewards?
I'm just an individual, Darren who build, maintain, manage and promote the website after my kids have gone to bed.
I've been sacrificing my personal time and money to build this website outside of my day job every day. (no Netflix for me :( )
I'm indeed in New Zealand and happy to have a chat over phone or have a cuppa. ;)

Why I built this website? Life is hard. I built ShopRewards to help everyone to stretch their dollar further by sharing the advertising commission as cashback.
Hopefully every dollar back from your purchases can make a difference.
Also, I passionately believe in giving back to community. That's why I partnered with KidsCan and make donations every year with some cashbacks.

Yes, the website is not perfect. Yes, it has grammatical and spelling errors.
I'm trying my best to fix those errors or I might get someone to help on those. Feel free to send through any suggestion.

I hate spam as much as you do.
I can assure you that I take data security and privacy very seriously.

Finally, Thanks to those who have trusted ShopRewards for the last few years and I will keep my promise and not let you down.
I have received lots of feedback, suggestions and advises throughout the journey and will keep improving and growing ShopRewards.

      Cheers,
      Darren

      • Hi Darren,
Sounds like your heart is in the right place which is great.
If you will allow me to offer some advice.
        * Increase the transparency of your website by including the relevant parts of what you just wrote in your about page.
        * Follow through with that company registration and provide that information and physical contact details on the website.
        * Make sure you are ready for the new Privacy Act 2020 which comes into force in December.
        * Make sure you are familiar with things like the OWASP Top Ten.
        * With the above two things in mind, rather than saying ‘we use 128bit SSL’ for instance, maybe go into a bit of technical depth, say you are using TLS 1.3 with xyz cipher suite, that passwords are hashed with bcrypt, etc. People who are reading your privacy policy before giving you their PII are probably not the sort of people who would be scared off by more detail.

        • Hi,

          Thanks for your advice.

          I appreciate your input.

I will go through these items and update the site as soon as possible.

          Thanks.
