PlayStation Black Friday Sale PSN (USA & India) - Ghost of Tsushima $58, TLOU2 $44, FIFA $43, Bandicoot 4 $51

70

It seems like people like overseas digital gaming deals so I'll do a Playstation one as well.

I've taken a random selection of games from the first page of both the US and India Black Friday PSN sales and converted them to NZD rounding up to the nearest dollar, I've also included the price on the NZ store Black Friday sale. Games from India are in English in case you're worried.

You'll notice some huge savings and also how some games are very similar in price across all 3 stores.

Prices go US - [India] - (NZ)

Ghost of Tsushima $58 [$56] ($86)
Last of Us Part II $44 [$45] ($69)
Fifa 21 Beckham Edition $51 [$43] ($58)
Avengers $44 [$39] ($60)
Crash Bandicoot 4 $57 [$51] ($65)
Final Fantasy 7 remake $57 [$52] ($80)
Resident Evil 3 $29 [$23] ($38)
Tony Hawk 1 & 2 $44 [$44] ($60)
Star Wars Squadrons $35 [$31] ($35)
God of War $15 [$15] ($18)

If you haven't purchased from an overseas PSN before i've done a tutorial, it's pretty simple and the US store is the easiest to purchase from because you can buy the PSN top up cards instantly through Amazon.

Tutorial is here -> https://www.cheapies.nz/node/25561

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals.

  • is GST collected on these purchases?

  • Got resident evil 2 remake, crash team racing and control ultimate edition all for $50 US

Has anyone tried getting games from the india psn? What's the experience with wallet cards and sign-ups?

    • You'll need to find a store selling gift cards for that region (unless you happen to have a credit card from there), and an address (any address) . Then no real issues, excluding my comment below.

Don't be surprised if Sony geoblock the PSN stores in the near future. This will create a fairly big issue if they decided to, as you'll no longer be able to download the games you purchased without a router level VPN.

They have started to do so with the PlayStation site themselves in the past two months (you'll need to use a vpn to access a store that isn't your usual geo location at this point).

They won't let you transfer accounts to different regions either.

Huh, VPN? You don't need a VPN to access stores at all what are you talking about? I mean I put links in the post that link directly to the India and US stores that you can click on and visit without a VPN.

I get sick of people constantly spreading misinformation trying to put people off doing this, it's been going on ever since we realized we could save money by buying from overseas stores back in the PS3 days, there's always someone telling us we're going to lose access to our games or be banned or whatever. If you don't want to save money then keep paying the exorbitant NZ prices but leave the rest of us alone. Peace.
