  • I tried these on earlier this year at PB Tech and they're surprisingly uncomfortable - the pads are very thin and the top arch doesn't have much flex, so the pads poke into your ears at the bottom and don't sit flat on the sides of your head unless you're exactly the right size for them.

There aren't a ton of alternatives at the low end for over-ear headphones, but these Warehouse ones are a lot more comfortable and also have a basic form of noise cancellation:

They're $35 full price, and they go on sale quite often so I'd expect them to be discounted to something like $25 on Boxing Day.

  • I agree, these headphones aren't very good at all. I thought they looked familiar so I searched my Gmail account. I purchased a pair in 2015 from HN and paid $16, so $21.95 including delivery. Very uncomfortable and the sound quality was nothing special. When I sold a turntable on Trade Me I gave the guy the headphones as a freebie.

  • Agree with all that's been said. Bought a pair from HN as backups a few years ago when they had them for $13 and I'm still annoyed I wasted $13 on them. Tried them out for all of 3 or 4 minutes then put them in a drawer and they've lived there ever since.

Might be good for a small child but if you're buying for a child you'd probably be better off with some iFrogz from Smiths for $19 instead of these.
