Breville Oracle + 12 Month Coffee Subscription for $2,790.06 @ Allpress Espresso

50

These units are usually $2899 by itself but looks like if you buy it from All Press, it's only $2790.06 PLUS you get approximately an extra 13 KGs of coffee beans delivered through out the year.

I believe these are worth about $60 per KG.

The Breville Oracle was very recently $1999 and usual price is <$2500. PriceSpy

It should be worth noting that the $1999 price mark was a refurb.

  • If you're in Auckland, I get my beans from https://tob-coffee.business.site/
Fave for a few years now, he's an international coffee judge, and sells 1KG beans for $35 with a free coffee.
Great value & selection for home barista's.

    Is this ChoiceCheapies or ChoiceExpensivies

  • Once you're hitting those prices for a machine, would it not be worth going a bit further and getting a Rocket? Or do the Brevilles actually hold their own against them?

    • It's more about automation for these ones. They even tamp for you.
I have had a Breville Touch for about 2 years now and it's surprisingly good. I think the auto tamp is what adds so much to the price.

I paid $780 for my Barista Touch though. I would never pay todays prices (1400+)

One is a domestic appliance and another is prosumer product.

A professional coffee reviewer once said, if you want a hobby, get a prosumer machine like a rocket (or rancilio Silvia) but you also need to invest in a good grinder. If you just want good barista grade coffee in the morning, a machine breville will do.

      • I agree. I bought a Magister Stella from Homebarista in Tauranga 2 years ago. There were nicer looking machines in the market but the Stella heats up and is ready to go in 7 minutes. The beauty of making great coffee is well worth the time and investment. My Stella, if maintained and cared for, will outlive me. Pair it with a good grinder though.

  • $60/kg for coffee beans though..

I’ve bought from 2 local Dunedin roasters and now buy from a roaster in Christchurch and all 3 have been priced at $40/kg
