I think you fail to see the point. It's more of the nostalgic novelty than the game itself. You're paying to own it. People have been buying it, it's been selling out, and people are paying big bucks to get their hands on one. Thankfully, this deal is a slap in the face to those scalpers out there.

Firstly, I really don't think you get it.
Secondly, this is a site for deals. This is a deal. It's not for personal opinions on how they use the product.

@NovaAlpha: Yes i think we should post whatever we think is a good deal. That's a whole point of this page.

@Rayzajw: So you're going to spam all the deals on Groupon, 1Day or Grabone here as well? The quality of these posts only go by the taste of the poster. The real good deals aren't those regularly posted KFC or fast food deals. Those are meh and trash. The real good deals are something like a Sony WH-1000XM4 dropping from the usual $400+ to just $300 or whatever. That's the type of deal that gets a ton of upvotes.

For this deal, it's literally a 25+ year old game on a gameboy looking clone and sold for $80.

@NovaAlpha: This deal is a 20% saving on something that is also difficult to purchase, why is it such a big problem for you?

    • +2

It's because they're literally being forced to by thugs who come ot their house and make them click the mouse. That's the only explanation. It can't be that people buy things they want.

Misses the point though. The appeal of these is Nintendo and nostalgia, the actual game isn't really the attraction

      • agree, to say the game alone is just as good without the original style controller is not correct.

Is there a thing like this for SNES yet?

      • +1

        Theres the SNES Classic Edition

        • Not really handheld or portable unfortunately.

However, I did find some awesome stuff on AE that will emulate up to an N64, has a screen and runs off a battery for nearly the same price. Retroid is one of them, and there are some other brands there as well. They look like quality products too: https://youtu.be/J-lrONl5c88

          • @Antidamage: or you could get a new 3ds they are so easy to hack and run roms on

  • Thanks. I had been thinking about getting one, but the NZ prices were a bit high. I have some of the old dual screen ones which are now quite valuable, although probably about he same in todays money, as they cost back then.. Unfortionately my parents threw out the boxes I had in them when I was small and I remember being so angry, as having the boxes make them more valuable. So this will be good for the collection, as well as being a good game to play.
