So they emailed a voucher that says "Copies are not valid, originals only will be accepted"…
Not sure how you are supposed to prove that a printed email image is the only copy you have…

I'm going to get just 1 because I want these free promo's to continue.

    • The thing is though that probably thousands of people wpuld have been sent that newsletter.

    • I can promise you, food manufacturers love having product move from supermarket shelves. The manufacturer's would probably be more than happy if you took in a hundred vouchers. It looks very good in the eyes of supermarkets for one particular product to move.

      Thanks OP.

  • They doing a big promo at the moment. Myfoodbag gave a free obelisk beetroot feta and cashews dip

  • Thanks, grabbed one of each from two supermarkets across the street from each other (NW/Countdown)

    • do you just print out the images on paper or something?

      nvm saw the op's edit

Response from BlackBox to an email I sent them:

"Thanks for your email. The supermarkets have been advised that there will be print off's brought into the supermarket from our Newsletter so please feel free to print this voucher off and bring it into your local supermarket. "

    • Countdown Hamilton CBD declined to accept my print out, saying it's a copy and copies are not allowed.

Wonder if its because I got in before you and possibly had the same checkout staff member? I claimed mine yesterday afternoon with no issues.

Tempted to go to Paknsave for another.

        • The guy at the checkout showed it to the manager who declined it.
I was equally surprised because my mate redeemed it a few days ago.

@NedFlanders: Can't really blame them as stated on voucher that copies are not allowed. The checkout staff I encountered only read the first sentence as it seems, so I got the freebie.

            • @The Hound: My question is that how does anyone know it's a copy?
The only way you can prove it's an original if you would have got it in the mail printed by the company on matt/glossy paper, not sure how it works for digital images.

@NedFlanders: I'm a Cheapie, so I always print in the lowest (but readable) quality and in black and white. So yes, an obvious copy :) And yes, not long ago, vouchers usually come in hardcopies in your mailbox. Supermarkets are still used to that.

                • @The Hound: Exactly my point it should have a unique barcode if they are trying to ensure people don't abuse it.
A print of an original is not a copy but a print of the original digital file.
I mean, by all means, make it one per person only, no problem with that but not having clarity makes it a bad experience for everyone involved.

That sucks. I've used it twice in Wellington at 2 different supermarkets without question. Looking for that Pesto one but have only found the Hommus.

My friend tried using it at Pak n Save Royal Oak but was declined as they asked for original. Greenlane Countdown also rejected the printout of it.

I just claimed it at Pak n Save Royal Oak, I tried it at Countdown 3 Kings but was told to print it in colour for it to be "original"

    • That's ridiculous, to say the least, They should send out original vouchers or honour the printouts.

      • Not really the supermarkets' fault - they are just following the instructions on the printouts, and Obela are (I imagine) honouring the printouts.

The fault lies with the individual who (failed to properly) proof-read and / or signed off on the vouchers they emailed out.

        Alan.

  • I ended up with a fridge of about 19 pesto and 12 hummus. 😍 on the last day I just went into local supermarkets and used 3 vouchers at a time
