The best (and probably cheapest) way to play Alyx is on a Quest 2 using VirtualDesktop to run it as a wireless SteamVR headset. Setup is well documented and I've even had it running well streaming from a PC over the internet. I've heard of people using some kind of virtual online gaming PC to stream VR games to their headset.
