  • More junk for the landfill I guess.

    • +2

if no one buys it, still going to the landfill. might as well use it.

      • +1

If no one buys it, they won't replenish their stock.

        • +2

Exactly, buying stuff like this just encourages more low quality stuff to be made.

  • I wonder if it has four or 5 18650 batteries in it?

    • It says "a new generation of polymer" so would be a few pouch cells stacked.

  • I'm sure the bulk of the code orders will be cancelled but theres some ok deals for water bottles.

    • I used it on an umbrella previously. No problem. Do you think shipping and code a bit much?

    • Means multiple orders will get cancelled?
Although the stocks were ok while placing the orders.

Worth the punt for $4, I'm sure I can find a use for it even if it's just powering usb LEDs or a Google home when out in the garden.

  • Thanks, I just ordered one.

I also ordered 2 x Hobbytech Mini Photoboxes for 98 cents delivered.

  • Ordered, thanks OP! I am hoping they could charge USB-C devices like the iPad as I haven't had luck with other battery packs.

    • +1

It may not work for you - looking at the specs, it's got a USB-C port, but that is only listed on the input side - ie it can be charged via USB-C, but seems to only output via standard USB. Just tried to find where I got my good usb-c battery packs from Baseus and Kuulaa, but it looks like the site I got them from is no longer around.

Xiaomi USB-C packs are good and can be bought locally from PB-Tech, but are pretty expensive - I use the 20,000 mAH Power Bank 3 Pro to recharge my laptop at 45W over USB-C, but it's a big beast. PB Tech also have a 10,000 mAH Xiaomi one for $69 (https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/BAPMIX28965/Xiaomi-10000-mA…), so you might want to wait for that model to go on special.

Prob just need a USB-A to USB-C cable?

        • +1

Depends on what current draw his device needs - for a phone, a USB-A to USB-C cable will probably work fine, although may not fast-charge, but for higher output requirements that won't work - this powerpack can only produce 10.2W maximum as opposed to Power Delivery USB-C devices which can provide up to 100W. The top rate is intended for stuff like laptop charging, but I had a tablet that charged perfectly on a native USB-C connection but only just trickle-charged via a USB-A to USB-C.

Obviously try the cable first though :)

      • Thank you! Will investigate those ones.

    • I have a 10000 mAh tec.inc from the warehouse, it charges my Mac air okay as long as the lid is closed but still maintains the battery if I'm using the laptop.

Those were my best buys of 2020, and 18650 batteries for around 2 bucks are working extremely well. Luckily I bought a lifetime supply of those lol.

  • Cheers, bought one, thanks for the deal

  • +1

Sold out in black color. Still svailable in White though :)

  • Thanks, grabbed one last night. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my 3yo Mi 5000mAh powerbank.

  • Deal still active

  • +1

    status - dispatched!

  • Mine turned up today. Much more compact than I was expecting.

  • +2

    Mine turned up today.

It charges but will not turn on.
I suppose I could use it as a paper weight.

    • bugger havent received mine yet

      • +1

I got mine to work but it would only work when fully charged.
When the charge level got below 75% it wouldn't turn on.
I'm hoping after a few charge cycles it will come right.

        • i hope so, i have received mine and its charging fine so far

    • Just found mine in the door step at this hour and it's seemingly dead as well. Will stick it on charge again tomorrow morning to see if a few hours will kick it in to life. Given the expanding battery jcroberts111 received I'm not sure I'll trust leaving it to charge overnight unsupervised.

      • Mine eventually decided to charge. It'll do for chucking in a bag for emergencies or powering a Google home mini or LEDs out in the garden next summer.

  • +1

Mine also arrived but is faulty. The battery had expanded and popped the case off completely. Going to throw it away, hopefully safely somehow.

    Sorry environment. 🙄

    • +1

Good grief, luckily I skipped this purchase. I also almost bought those cheap micro SD cards, but having purchased dodgy ones in the past, decided to skip those as well. I imagined they will be dead/dodgy on arrival as well.

  • Might have got lucky but my one is charging my phone as we speak.

  • Mine looks fine so far. Charged my phone for a bit and charging my wireless mouse right now. Haven't charged it yet though. Fingers crossed.

  • 2 units here, first came at 50-75% battery and works fine. Second appears DOA(no charging led's when plugged in either)

  • I brought four and two were flat, using the cable supplied the other two would not fully charge so I used a good quality cable and charger and now all have fully charged .
