The Market Club Membership Free for Vodafone Customers (save $59/year)

240

Free Shipping for Five Years Through Vodafone Rewards at The Market.

I recently purchased a Vodafone sim and added the number to a new membership for The Market. I didn't need to top the number up with credit. It gave me five years of The Market membership which means five years of free shipping (with purchases of $45 and over) with free returns too.

As soon as I loaded the number to the membership hit 'cancel Market Club' so it won't automatically charge my credit card when my membership expires.
The text it gave me was:
Your TheMarket Club membership has been successfully cancelled. You will continue to receive TheMarket Club benefits until 30 Apr 2026

Thanks but they started this deal last year and it was posted here.

  • Yeah it's been like this for a while now. They even gave us a $20 coupon when this started. Original post here https://www.cheapies.nz/node/24910

  • Oh I didn't know it was a 5 year membership! It's worth the hassle of getting a sim card, I guess!

  • +1

But isn't this term in all of your accounts? They can remove the 5 years at any point.

"By joining TheClub as a Vodafone customer, you agree to the MyVodafone email address that you submit in your application being passed at any time by TheMarket to Vodafone for verification. Should you no longer have an active service attached to your MyVodafone account, your free membership of TheMarket Club, and any club member benefits such as priority VIP customer service and free shipping on eligible products will be terminated."

  • What's new in this deal?

  • Do you think we need to keep the sim active in order to keep The Market membership valid? Do I need to start topup to keep the sim active after 12 months as sim only valid for a year when inactive?

    • There's no indication that the Vodafone number has to remain active, so it shouldn't need to be topped up.

  • How do you turn off auto renew? I only have option to "Cancel The Market Club"

Hit cancel the market club and it will give you the text:
Your TheMarket Club membership has been successfully cancelled. You will continue to receive TheMarket Club benefits until 30 Apr 2026

      • That's bloody awesome cheers man

        • You're welcome 👍

          • @wowbigdeal: I just cancelled mine and got this email straight away:

            Hello,
According to Vodafone, the MyVodafone email address you have supplied us is no longer recognised as an active Vodafone customer.

This means that your free TheMarket Club membership, courtesy of Vodafone Rewards, has now ended. However you can still enjoy all the benefits of TheMarket Club by rejoining as a paid member here.

If you believe this is an error, and you are still an active Vodafone customer - please check that your MyVodafone account is still associated with your active Vodafone services. If you need any help adding your Vodafone services into your MyVodafone app, please contact Vodafone customer care on 0800 800 021 or alternatively follow the prompts within the MyVodafone App.

Once you’ve checked that your services are still active, please contact our team and we can correct this for you.

            • @doubledippps: But I just added items to cart to check the shipping seem like it's still valid for free shipping! Is that just stardard email they send after you cancel subscription?

              • @doubledippps: This seems to be the standard email that's sent out. The free shipping should remain in place for the original time frame. (Or at least until the t&cs are updated).

  • Any T&Cs to the delivery? I want to order a (normal sized) book and apparently it’s $65 shipping.. so I’m assuming it’s coming from overseas, would this be included in free ship?

    • +1

link the book and I'll take a look.

Also look for a 'TheClub' logo on the top left hand side of the product indicating free shipping with TheMarket Club membership.

      • Thanks - link here. It reads as though it would do free ship?

        • +2

I get the same result. $65 shipping. Might be better off buying it from Booktopia AU. Same company has a listing on TM for $62 delivered.

Alternatively, I just torrented the book and uploaded it to my google drive (kindle edition) just for kicks (10MB). I can email you the link if you want it.

  • Just tried this again on friend's account today (17/02/2022), only managed to get 6 months of Market Club.

Confirmed this account did not get free 6 month trial from the 1-day transfer (only got $10 voucher).

In the account summary page it states "MarketClub+ Trial" rather than "MarketClub+ Free", which is what is showing in my 5 year free account which was successfully activated in 2021.

Has someone tried recently who can confirm that it is only 6 months now?

    • +1

Confirmed that I only got 6 months when signing up today.

      Membership Tier: MarketClub+ Trial
      Free MarketClub+ Shipping Until: 05 Oct 2022
