Oh, they must be struggling with the demolition going on there, and not to mention the loss of all the foot traffic that moved through the temporary station

    • most likely the reason yeah, Auckland transport is doing it's best to kill the city.

The thing is… they used to be good value, but their prices keep going up and the quality has gone down over the years. Their burgers are now a sloppy, luke warm, deformed mess. Their fries are cold. My wife and I really used to enjoy grabbing a bite there.

They're supposed to be positioned as the "In n Out Burger" of NZ, but when the aforemention happens, they basically lose their value proposition and the market they're supposed to target in the first place. i.e. providing a simple menu - doing it right and cheap.

    • They certainly used to be a lot cheaper and have raised their prices a lot over the past 4-5years, but I was never a fan of their fare.

Tried their burgers a few times a year for 2-3 years at uni, but forget in n out, they are simply very average.

The only comparison to in n out is simplicity of menu [yes I'm aware they call themselves NZ's In n out] - certainly not price [fair enough its NZ market] and most importantly quality.

      • lol last time I had them, the burgers were only 5 bucks. No thanks.

It's only valid if you have a student ID. No deal for me sadly

    • Im trying to find where does it say student only, nor fb story, menu link or flyer mention anything related to students.

    • Instagram post does say student id.

      • Same with facebook post (get second one free with your student id).

  • How the hell is anyone paying 8 bucks for a mince patty and a bread roll with a slice of cheese. Burger quality and pricing is utterly scuffed in NZ at the moment. So many idiots are paying 25$ for a burger and fries no wonder no one is trying to compete

    • i know, soo many expensive burgers out there that are below par. i make more at home now than eat out.

Have a look at your local fish & chip takeaway shop. Some can make a decent burger for a reasonable price. Check your local FB groups, and sites like Google reviews or zomato.

My local takeaway ranges from 5-8$ and they make their own patties rather than getting those weird bulk patties. I love me some BurgerFuel but cant justify their prices sometimes.. especially with no combo or anything

    • The fact that the mushroom costs more must speak to the quality of that mince.

  • See the title changed bit late went there 5pm yesterday told me only 11 to 3pm so go today 12.30 and they tell me i need student id, waste of my time.

  • The advert on FB didn't show anything about student ID or time of day. I'd ask for the store manager, show them the image of the ad, and ask them to honour it. If they decline, ask for their manager contact details. And politely say you will talking to them about their breach of the Fair Trading Act.
