  • Are you sure it works, can't add the system to cart.

Just double-checked and yep it worked for me.

      • Just worked for me too.

        • So weird when i get to compatible essentials screen for the 3070 system and then try add it just disappears saying nothing in cart

that's on 3 devices, firefox and chrome
          wifi and mobile data

@Huntakillaz: It's an issue with the link I think. If I follow 'Go to Deal' and add the item to my cart, it disappears when I get to checkout. If I go to the Dell NZ website (not using that link) and add the items listed to my cart, I have no issues.

@Wakrak: I've updated the links so hopefully they behave properly now.

"16GB Single Channel DDR4 XMP at 3200MHz; up to 128GB (additional memory sold separately)" be sure add an additional stick for max performance.

    • +1

I don't get an option to add another stick but I suppose you can just buy one separately and put it in.

      • +1

Yup, way for Dell squeeze a few more $$$ out of us.

        • Yeah the packages offered in NZ and not modifiable at order. Need to order let’s and install yourself later.

I was trying to look into reviews feedback of this system and there seems to be some issues with finding ram that works, at least I think. I'd want to get this to 64gb. It wasn't clear to me if they meant they had issues with overclocking or just getting after-market ram to boot. The additional ram sold through Dell is expensive.

      • I’m exactly the same.

I’m looking to get to 32GB so if you want to clear your included 16GB stick then sing out.

  • No longer able to add to cart, just save changes. Maybe Dell on to us :) NM Add re-appeared.

    • Yeah I'm seeing weird inconsistencies on the website as well. It disappeared for me but then came back.

  • Vibe on ryzen vs intel CPUs?

    • You get more bang for your buck with Ryzen right now.

The big win with this system is the GPU — high-end cards are currently almost impossible to get for normal prices, so buying an entire gaming PC is actually pretty reasonable.

  • Only $240 more to go for 3070 gpu over 3060ti

  • A shame they don't offer it with a 3080.

  • This is kind of tempting. I usually get my systems built by Computer Lounge as I like to customize my specs. That said, I'd up the ram to 64gb and add as much storage as I could, ideally via few NVME drives. I haven't had a brand name desktop PC in ages but I don't ever actually upgrade my CPU/mobo, I just tend to move on to a new system so maybe this might be an okay option.

I know with the Intel system that was a deal a few weeks back, the Dell limits the potential of the CPUs, or rather aren't as good as getting more out of them compared to other mobo manufacturers. I assume that's the case here as well? Or if it not as much of an issue with an AMD based system? I have never owned an AMD based PC so I don't know what to look out for.

Also, I already own a Asus Tuf 3070 OC - I assume the one in this PC us unbranded. Just wondering if the Asus I already have would be better and if I could take this Dell version out and sell it.

these comps only have 1 nvme slot unless you get a special adapter also

  • +1

I've got an NVME adapter card in my current PC as the mobo only has one NVME slot on it. I don't think this PC is a bad deal, especially considering how much 3070's are going for now. If you can upgrade the ram without much issue I think you would be golden. For me, I'm going to stick with a custom build as I'd like to get a mobo with multiple NVME slots as as many internal SATA connections as possible. Just picky requirements that suit a custom build.

EDIT - this was meant as a replay to a comment, but oh well.
