  • from email *EDIT: It's Monday morning and we sent you an incorrect code. Please use RADIOWBD (Not RADIOMINIFEED) to redeem our World Burger Day offer.

    • yeah thought that was weird, txt said one thing and picture showed another.

      • i didn't realise the deal started now and it ends before the actual day (was gonna order on friday)

        • yeah bit sucky it dont include friday, i think they will be having more promos as they let slip promo code RADIOMINIFEED which might be a future deal

          • +1

@nevergofullretail: Nah it's their last deal https://www.cheapies.nz/node/27440 so someone must have forgotten to update something

And the Monday thing is obviously a joke but I do hope Burger Fuel marketing department isn't composing the main e-mail for a major promotion on the day itself or I think they have bigger problems than it being Monday morning.

  • I got my burger for free as I found a bug in the system in which I can order burger for free. Dropped a mail to burgerfuel and also informed the Manager about the bug and to pay for the burger. The Manager was generous enough and asked me to come back tomorrow and order fresh hot burger. Bug has been fixed.

Add code, remove one burger etc?
Good job however some may not be too happy that exploit is now gone, I would of at least added some fries with my free burger.

      • Yes, add 2 burger and enter the code then remove one burger from the list. The discount code is still still applicable and you have to pay $0 for the burger.

        • Interesting. I thought I remember in the past when they had similar promotions it did decide the coupon was invalid when you removed the burger but sometimes took a while. And it had major weirdness when the backend was having load problems. (Normally in the opposite direction though, failing to recognise the coupon was valid.) I did often wonder how robust their system was given some of the stuff I saw, I think I did get something weird on the checkout page once although think it wasn't a free burger and whatever it was I decided not to bother trying since I couldn't be bothered talking to them about it if it succeeded.

    • I want to hate you for this but I can't. You have my respect for doing the right thing, matey.

  • It says “Order contents do not meet requirements.” Can someone help pls

    • What were you trying to order

    • Needs to be 2 of the same burger

      • Not quite same, but any 2 burgers from choice of 4

        • Although since they are all different prices, 2 of the same gives best effective discount since like all BOGO, cheapest is one you get free

  • Discount worked without a hitch. Thanks, dinner sorted for me and my girl.

  • Thank you!

  • not working today

    • Worked for me during lunchtime.

    • Seems not to work if you use the same account. Sign up for a new account.

  • Doesnt work on me, never used the code on my account, said the code is invalid…

    • Are you sure you or someone else on your account never used the code? I'll write a more detailed post later but if you added the code on your account before, it's probably considered used even if you didn't place an order. I suggest a new account if this happened to you is easier than trying to get Burger Fuel to fix it.

      • If that was the problem it seems the code eventually times out so it should work now

  • +2

    A few points:

    1) If you've used the code before, you'll get "code is no longer valid". T&C clearly say the code is once per account over the four days which is a reasonable and common restriction even if one generally easy to by pass. So likewise it's reasonable it doesn't work if you've used it before although IMO a clearer message like "You've already used this code" would be better.

    2) Burger Fuel's implementation seems flawed. The code is marked as used once you add it on your account. You don't even have to start the order or select a store. Problem is if you use a different browser or session, the code won't be there but it will still be used. If you still have the session with the code, you can remove it and use it again, or use that other session. But if you lose the session e.g. close the browser or it times out, I think your SOL for a while. Or at least I didn't find a way to fix it from a quick test. Edit: For clarity the coupon does stay within a login session so if you use the same browser and it keeps cookies it should still be there. But if you always reset cookies on startup or something you'll likely lose the session.

    3) After something like between 40 minutes and an hours, the code starts to work again. I assume your login session with the code times out. Don't really see a reason for being so strict considering it's so trivial to bypass, but suspect it probably wasn't done for that reason anyway. Most likely it's this way because easy way to code a limit is to mark it as used when it's added rather than marking it later when the order is placed. At least they made the code to "time out" if no order is placed. (I think Hell's Pizza keeps the coupon in the account between sessions which is another option.)

    4) For those who genuinely never used the code and who can't be bothered waiting for it to time out, might be better to just bypass the limit. Make a new account, you can use the same name and phone, you'll need a new email but probably can use the plus trick or dots for Gmail.

    5) As often seems to be the case when they have these deals, this (Tuesday) evening they had trouble coping with the load. At about 2030-2100, a lot of restaurants had online ordering disabled. Some of them had run out of buns etc. Others which still had online ordering enabled were sold out of the 4 burgers, and often others as well. (Some of these might have been no bun restaurants which didn't disable complete, didn't look that well.) There were some you could still order from e.g. Lincoln Road and Mt Roskill were two but it definitely looked like you might not have much luck. I was wondering if having it over four days would spread the load enough to stop this especially since Monday seemed to be fine for me, but it might just have been the restaurant also guess it was a Monday as well as the first day of the deal.

    6) Their online ordering system it self seemed to be somewhat broken, again probably load related. Some of the restaurants which shut down online ordering said in their message it was because they were having problems and although it could be they were lying I suspect it was genuine. I tried both Lincoln Road and Mt Roskill and with credit card payment, it would get stuck after verying my payment (going through 3D Secure etc, even placing a pending transaction so fairly it wasn't Paymark). Eventually after minutes it would say couldn't place your order. Trying again would fail quickly. Eventually I tried Online EFTPOS instead and fortunately that did work. Actually after I confirmed the payment it processed my order on the site so fast I was afraid given my earlier problems it hadn't actually gone through. I didn't receive an email until over 10 minutes after placing the order so ended up calling the store just to make sure. It's possible that credit card would have worked as well, as it wasn't Online EFTPOS but rather that their system starting to recover, I didn't test for obvious reasons.

    7) Don't know for sure what Wednesday and Thursday will be like but even with the limit, suspect may be similar. Unfortunately this may mean even if you're like me and don't mind ending at 2200, you might need to order early and join the mad rush rather than helping spread the load. You could try a schedulded order although I often wonder how well they manage those or you'll get a call saying "Yes I know we've had your 2145 order since midday but we used all our buns, sorry".

Edit2: Logging out of your account with the session will also remove the association. I did try logging out from a different session and changing password. Neither seem to fix the coupon. Didn't try changing email for the account or anything but I wonder if there's a way since sort of expect Burger Fuel didn't really see a need for you to be able to log out other sessions which is fair enough for this sort of thing IMO. Although for security reasons, changing password normally should kill all login sessions which it doesn't (can still use a different session after changing password) but I guess with a short time out the risk is low. Actually it's probably almost existent since you need to re-enter password for saved payment and there's no order history or anything visible online.

  • Online ordering is still buggy, I somehow had three burgers in my cart (two being from this promotion) and both the promo burgers were free - meaning I only had to pay the cost of one burger.

My order went through but then it was refunded by the store, so it seems like they're onto it

  • This offer doesn't seem to work. I ordered the burgers with the code via the app and even though it said "welcome to world burger day" found my order total had not reduced and it still wanted to charge me for two burgers.

After this I tried in my browser and it said the code was no longer valid (even though i never placed an order successful order yet).

It seems very screwed up, got my hopes up for nothing.

    • Moot point now, but as mentioned above, if you add the coupon you need to either remove it or wait for the session to timeout before you can use it in a different browser or session, I'm sure this is the same for the app. If you didn't delete the coupon from your app login/order attempt, this would be why you couldn't use it in your browser.

  • Hi - Worked for me ! Thanks - I only get BF when its BOGOF

GET YOUR 2FOR1 HOOK UP IN-STORE ONLY.

Head in-store today and show this email when you buy a Bacon Backfire, American Muscle (Single or Double) or V8 Vegan, and you can shout your mate one of these four epic burgers for FREE too! T&Cs below.
