10c it is
Ummm isn't it 10c usually on Wednesdays at BP?
BP yes, as well as other outlets such as GAS, Caltex and Z. Gull is usually the same price if not cheaper on these days. Their discount day however comes once a month and is always cheaper than BP and others when compared to a Wednesday 10c off.
Gull is now doing unofficial discount days every week, usually on Thursdays or weekends at some stations. Check Gaspy.
I've noticed that too! In my area last month, Gull was sitting around the $1.99 mark for 91, whilst everyone was $0.10+ more expensive. Such a good app but it's annoying when some add the discounted price instead of the price before the discount at some stations.
I have to say that 10c per litre discount from Gull is underwhelming. Bring on the 20c - can't remember the last time they did that tbh.
Just right before it was sold to a large multinational company (Chevron). Used to be family owned.
From what I have noticed that Gull drops the price on Wednesdays just like BP, Caltex, Z. The super discount day is no surprise anymore just 10 cents and on 4th thursday of each month. Miss the days when they used to give out $3/5/8 vouchers when they still have staff on site.
They still do that. Just that fewer outlets have staff on site
Thanks for this information, been seeing their manned sites changing into self-service one by one, thought they gave up on customer service compltetely. Do you know when they are giving out vouchers? it used to be quite random
Yes very few stations remained staffed now. Out west Auckland, there is Rosebank Roundabout (not Rosebank East / the one further in) and Henderson Valley Road then more central Stoddard Road and Kingsland. If you go to the map on their website and click on the outlet it should say if it's manned or unmanned. It looks like south it's Papatoetoe and Roscommon Road and there's no longer anything north.
They seem to give the vouchers out every advertised discount day, except for those times when they have a short 12 hour or whatever discount day. I mean those monthly promotions like this they advertise on Facebook and their website, not any other discounts they may offer during the week mentioned by other posters. Possibly sometimes they may run out before the end of the discount day, so if you go late in the day or especially on the next day (since it lasts until midday the next day) you may miss out. I never have a problem getting a voucher even if I only buy $10 of fuel or less although once or twice I may have had to ask. Possibly if you use the self service tank of a staffed station (since those are 6 cents cheaper albeit a lot busier) and take your receipt inside and ask they'll give you one but I've never tried it.
I've been waiting for this.
