  • FYI makes the Sennheiser PXC 550-II Wireless $289 as they are currently on special.

    • As an owner of PXC 550-II for the last couple of years, I'm only reasonably happy with them. For that price (even with its micro USB) I'd be okay happy I guess. But really I would have gone for Bose 700s if I had had a choice. Then again, apples and oranges.

I'm on the hunt for my first ever credit card.. sounds like it's going to be amex. Any others I should be going for instead?

    • yes they do the best promotions but you should really get a visa or MasterCard as they're accepted in more places.

Get a visa or MC then get the no annual fee amex for promos.

Get the Amex Platinum Edge. It's $150 fee but includes a free return Air NZ domestic flight every year.

    • I'm using sbs credit card. no annual fee and ok cash back $1 from $150 spend.
Search for moneyhub for the card review may save you some time on finding the best one for you.

      • Does SBS credit card give you the cash back every month? I still think BNZ Platinum Visa has got the best cashback rewards on the market. Of course it depends on your spend every month. There is annual card fee of $90. The cashback is $1 from $90 spend. I did a simple calculation. If the annual spend is over $20K, BNZ card is better than SBS card. BNZ credit card gives the cashback every month not like ANZ card only once every 12 months.

  • Not that it’s really be worth the time and effort, but out of curiosity…

when you do a return/refund at a store they ask you to put it back on the same card that you purchased it with (for obvious reasons), but is there anything on the retailers end that actually stops a refund being placed on another card?

      Short answer - no.

Long answer - the store would need to explain why (and have good reasoning) it wasn't returned to the original method of payment if they were audited.

Source - 5 years in retail, 12 years in finance.

  • Couldn't find a minimum spend. Is there any if at all?

    • Doesn't seem to be one..

And it doesn't look like General Pants supports amex.
I've had that in store before with their restaurant month promotions - they list a vendor, you go there, and they say you can't use amex.
