Looks like price has been dropped at Noel Leeming now too

    • oh yes i can see that now. i guess direct apple is better as free shipping since Noel Leeming one would be $6 for shipping unless purchase from The Market with membership.

Won't it be better from TheMarket with cashback?

        • yes, you are right! 3% - 3.5% cashback

NL has the $10 off code: MYNL16W10 but cashback will be better.

        • What cashback is good?

          • @RockCartel: I use kiwiwallet.

@ace310: Second kiwiwallet. I used to use shoprewards but had issues tracking a couple of big purchases with them so I switched. Kiwiwallet way more reliable so far.

  • never understood why somebody would by this phone for 899nzd when you can get an android phone with way better specs for cheaper

Lengthy OS update for Apple device when Android mob gets 2 and be lucky with 3 years max. FYI, the iPhone 6s is 6 years old and is eligible for latest iOS 15 release.

    • I still have my iPhone 5s as my backup phone. Everything works except battery last half day. But you get the point.

    • Apple phones are for people who like to be told what to do, Android phones are for people who do what they want.

Sent from my Huawei and my iPhone.

it's not always about the specs- I get mine only because I'm stuck in the iOS ecosystem and everything just works smoother if you stick to their range.

likewise when I was using windows as my main device the iphone was never much of an option as a mobile.

      • You're absolutely right, with Apple it's all about the ecosystem. If you have an iMac, mac laptop, Apple Watch etc there's no third-party apps needed everything just works together.

    • Some people pick a car because they like the colour. People like stuff they like, and then sometimes rationalise it after the fact.

    • It wasnt that great at launch, but for the price, if you can get past the screen (not so much the LCD, but there's some seriously annoying screen door effect, it definitely doesn't look remotely modern…)

But for someone who doesnt care a lot about their phone and doesnt nitpick, its fine. Id buy one for nan but wouldnt ever consider one for myself

    • Yes - In fact, if you are patient, you can probably equal or beat the specs for less than half the price.

That means you could purchase an Android today, throw it away (or on-sell) in, say, three years time, buy another which will, by then, have way better specs, and throw that away (or on-sell) after another three years. You would have spent less in real terms (a dollar today is worth more than a dollar in three years time), would have half of the amount invested, and ended up with far better specs (especially on average).

      Alan.
