Seems 2Tb prices are slowly coming down, but who know with the current comp market as parts shortage is being outed lately and apparently will get worse.

Good for having a games drive or laptops if you've run out of NVME slots

Probably should put the price in the title

Trying to find a reason to buy a couple of these. The 1TBs are a good price as well.

These are the SSDs you want if you have to get SATA for whatever reason, home servers, old computers etc.

    DRAM - Good
No DRAM - Bad (SSDs without DRAM won't mention the fact that they don't have it)

SLC - Amazing (but insanely expensive and you'll never find it)
MLC - Very Good (but expensive and you're unlikely to find it)
    TLC - Good (Old Common)
    QLC - Bad (New Common)

The MX500s have DRAM and are TLC.

The BX500s are TLC with no DRAM.

Samsung drives are all DRAM drives, but the cheap QVO ones are QLC.

Most other brands using QLC have no DRAM which makes them particularly dreadful.

    • I have a BX one and it's been relegated to a boot drive in a pc we never use. It frequently locked up my main machine when writing volumes of data to it. Tried to use it in a caddy on my Xbox one and downloading to it it goes hell for leather then just stops every 30 seconds to catch up with the writes. I think it would be fine with small amounts of read write but once you download volumes of data it just brought everything to a halt.

  • I want to grab just to store offline stuff but I don't think I have any more sata 6 ports available.
