Anyone know what is the "limit 5 per customer" on Countdown One Card boost mean? Can i redeem the same boost for 5x times with separate transactions?
Going to buy something double the usual price to get the boost points..

I got a boost for $22/kg Chicken Breast with bonus 1000pts, I can buy a small tray which cost me $8 and get the 1000pts (equal value to $7.5) and repeat this 5 times if I can get 5x 1000pts with separated transactions and get 1.4kg chicken breast for $2.5, hope my maths is right tho 😂
Wow! If that is correct, then stellar deal!
1,000 pts = $7.50 is correct, so you are paying $8 and getting about 364g of chicken plus $7.50 (effective) credit so like paying $0.50 per 364g.
I get that to be 1.8kg of chicken for $2.50, if so even better, but maybe I got it wrong - either way, great find!
Just to note if anyone else is looking at this - it is specific to you, probably many others too - but not listed under my 'boosts' unfortunately :-(
That does depend on being able to use the boost for more than a single item - I am not sure I have ever paid that much attention. Maybe you could purchase two packs in separate transactions, check you got both sets of points that evening (say), then go back another day and buy a more. At some point you might find you went beyond the limit and paid $22 / kg, but hopefully you would still be ahead.
If you do try it, please do post back and let us know what the limit is, or at least how many you got away with without going over.
Thanks,
Alan.
No need to buy them separately. I had the same offer before, bought 5 packs of free range chicken breast in one go, got 5000 points instantly. Pretty much got the chicken for free 😂
Nice :-)
Now I am envious - hope I didn't miss that boost offer! Most of them aren't much use to me so I do tend to skim over once lightly.
Alan.
@Alan6984: Countdown is more expensive, so I don't usually buy the booster products unless it works out cheaper. Eg. I usually buy Turk FR chicken 450g $8, 3 packs for $20. They works out about $11 to $15 per kg depending on the size of the chicken breast which is pretty good price for free range. I wouldn't go for the $22 kg price tag if they didn't offer 1000 points.
This week, they offer 1 kg block cheese for 350 points. It works out $10.60-$2.63=$7.97 each. Pretty good value too.
@Superpower21: Darn - Maybe they don't give me the juicy boosts due to me not using them very often!
Well played Sir :-)
@Alan6984: Haha… I think they actually observe your shopping patterns and offer you points to buy their countdown brand of the same product. Eg mainland cheese 1 kg to countdown cheese 1 kg. So I am sure you will get some decent offers too if you look at the booster.
@Alan6984: Maybe they are just random? I don't redeem the boost as often also, only when it's a really good deal, maybe the same deal will go thru everyone like a cycle? But I do shop at countdown quite often as there's not PnS around my area..
Thanks for the heads up man I will give it a try tomorrow!
Also have anyone used bunchcountdown before? I think I have register my interest more than a year ago but apperantly I'm still "in the queue & will let me know when there is a slot available" when I tried to register interest again
That's interesting - I get Bunch offers all the time (probably at least once a month, but I think I've had about four or five in the last few weeks).
They are all complete freebies, but you have to write a short review and give the product a score (no big deal - only takes a minute or so).
Alan.
Hi GeoffGo,
When you say that you are, 'Going to buy something double the usual price to get the boost points.' what do you mean?
I am struggling to imagine what you could find, where it is worth paying twice the price just to get the OneCard Points.
Thanks,
Alan.
