For anyone who is saying that this is an over priced gaming laptop, here is a list to convince you the other way.

1) Lenovo is a very trustable brand
2) You get a full power RTX 3070 which is 140 watts ( most manufactures ships with 125 W)

3) Build quality is above average
4) You get lot of ports for all your connection. (4 USB and 2 USB C connections) Both USB C ports support display port and 1 support power delivery also.
5) you have good warranty coverage also from Lenovo

Only downsides :
(1) Shipping time is little bit high on the 3070 laptops.
(2) 300W power brick is huge :D

  • lol Student store is $3k 🤦‍♂️

    • If you apply the EDUCOMM voucher code it comes down to $2,791.35. Still outrageously high regional pricing imo.

      • Yeah brother got the same one with 3yr onsite warranty for $2600 in Aus

        • Got mine from NZ 2 months ago also for $2600 but with 2yr onsite warranty. At that time the jacked up the price, luckily I had screenshots and they honored the previous pricing. Love the laptop!

Hi guys, I don't think this laptop to be over priced. I think its fairly priced one.

    Here are my reasons :

    1) Lenovo is a very trustable brand
    2) You get a full power RTX 3070 which is 140 watts ( most manufactures ships with 125 W)
    3) You get a 16:10 165Hz QHD screen which is amazing ( most manufactures ships with 16:9 1080p screen)
    3) Build quality is above average
    4) You get lot of ports for all your connection. (4 USB and 2 USB C connections) Both USB C ports support display port and 1 support power delivery also.
    5) you have good warranty coverage also from Lenovo
    6) You will also get a physical webcam block switch

This laptop can easily run your games in very good quality for atleast 3 years ( or may be 4 years)

  • Yea looks pretty decent, would like to see a competing laptop at this price range.

  • Not this model but a previous 3060 model Huntakillaz posted, these gaming laptops are a real gem. Awesome screen, mid 70's CPU/GPU thermals for most game, good port selection…can't say enough positive about the Lenovo Legion range. Issues are (1)touch pad is slightly further to the left than I'd like and (2)fans can randomly fire up for 1m or 2m for no reason.

  • I don't know about now, but you could get the Legion 7 with 1TB and 3070 for about $2750 through the student store a few months back. I discovered that after I paid $3400 for it (but I did get the 3 year no stress warranty included). It was about a 2 month wait for me to get it.

  • I bought one with 5800H and 3050Ti graphics card for my girlfriend and she received yesterday. So happy about the purchased and definitely recommend!

    • That is also a pretty good spec. How much you paid for it ?

      • Using education price and coupon, $2186

  • Legion 7 is better than Legion 5 pro in all aspects.

If you can still get it for 2750 its a steal deal.

But I can point out only 1 issue with Legion 7 —> The per key RGB keyboard, has an issue like it consumes more battery than the 4 zone RGB keyboard on Legion 5 Pro

Lenovo might have fixed that bug by now. Just pointing out what I found from my research just a small minor issue.

  • Never understood the point of a gaming laptop

has less shittier components than non gaming ones, and usually better cooling but you pay a slightly higher price coz rgb and "gaming"

  • +1

Gaming laptop = You can watch movies/do some homework + You can play some games with good visuals + You can create some content + you gets reasonable portability + you can show off with some RGB (if available) + Some less money in your wallet :)

  • How noisy are the fans when it's gaming?

    • While under load, the fans are pretty load but that is a good thing, it will keep the GPU temp well under control.

  • great deal.. bought my 3070 asus laptop earlier on which I regreat. Wish I could have gotten this one.

    • Don't worry, 3070 cards are all good. Which model you got ?

Some gets too less power which results in lower perf but still can run most of the games now.

      • a21 i think the 3070 Asus TUF Model (non dash)

  • the smaller charger any good? 230W AC Adapter Slim (3pin)-ANZ

    • +1

Smaller charger is good and handy but on full load (on 3070) it may not charge the laptop fully. Lenovo recommends 300W charger.

By full load I mean you are playing Cyberpunk 2077 (or similar, Ray Tracing baby ) on full settings or Encoding a 4K video out.

I think 3050Ti (95W) graphics card model comes with 230W adaptor.

    • 230W "slim" charger is actually quite big as well, size of an external hard drive. I was quite surprised when I took out the box last night.

      • Then you should see the 300W charger. :D

  • can't wait for 8 week. will wait to see if there will be any other deal. thanks OP.

    • +1

  • now $2,548.60
