Roborock S6 Pure 25% off, $599 Shipped at PB Tech

Shippy21

This is a great deal. Last time it was on cheapies it was down to $719. This is part of PB Tech's rolling series of Black Friday deals.

All the accessories (additional filters etc) are also on small specials, around 10% off.

I've got one and highly recommend. It's not the most advanced model - no electronic water control in mop mode, no camera for obstacle detection - but it does a great job and has decent battery life even on max power.

Credit to mdell95 for the free shipping code.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals.

This is a great price, I bought one last year for $699.

Some people may prefer this one over the ones with camera for privacy reason.

Any idea how it compares to Viomi S9. Considering one of these two.

Really rate this as a vacuum

Xiaomi Mi Smart Robot 1C Vacuum Cleaner 2-in-1 $299 record low price too

    • I have this. It's good. I like it. Best thing to add is get spare filters, rollers and brush from Aliexpress. Very handy when they get dirty just replace them and clean it over the weekend. Saves a lot of trouble. Mopping is kind of gimmick, don't really use much.

      • Where do you get the spare parts? There seem to be so many places on AliExpress but I have a hard time telling which are legit.

        • I don't think mine is original ones. But they are pretty good quality one. Can't expect original for $28 bucks. Using 2 sets for 4 months now without any issues.

          Bought 17pc set for $28

        • Aliexpress or PB depending on what one your after we have the usual brushes and filters and probably other ones that arent listed but aliexpress has a huge catalogue of things

      • Would you mind sharing if this would work if we have 4 bedroom house? Living area, kitchen and hallway is vinyl flooring. Bedrooms and family room is all carpet. Bathroom floors tiled. Thinking of buying my 1st smart vacuum as im the only one who has to vacuum all the time (wife, mum, and my 4yo daughter don’t vacuum). I don’t really want to spend more than $300

        • Check my comments from previous post, happy to answer anything further

You are exactly in my situation. Alone doing the vacuum with 2 toddlers drive me crazy sometimes. Do remember though, small toys in the way can be troublesome sometime. But I think that will go with any robot vacuum.

Not sure on vinyl floors, I got hardwood and carpet floors. Guess it will be same.

Caution : robot vacuums don't work well on very dark floors specifically shades of black.

          • @ace310: Can you tell it to just do certain rooms? We have a reasonably big house approx 255 sqm, but I'd mainly want it in the kitchen and living areas.

            • +1

@cutcutcut: You can't define rooms as it can only store 1 map. But want you can do is zone cleaning. Which means you can draw a rectangle on the map of the area you want to clean. I do that for kitchen & dining room regular.

It also has no go area and virtual boundaries. which can be set along the room doors which would tell the robot to not go inside. I use virtual wall against toy room door so it won't go inside.

Mind you it needs a way from the base station to zone cleaning area.

          • @ace310: Thanks thats really helpful, i think i shd give this a go, at-least for kitchen and living area regular cleaning like u are using it

            • @offroad: Can't go wrong with $300 vacuum. I feel like buying 2 of these than the more expensive ones if you have multi level house.

Yes, it can't clean everything as it can't reach all corners of the house so once in awhile you need to do the vacuum manually. I have reduce myself vacuuming kitchen & dining area once in almost 3 weeks or so after having Rosy (my daughter named her lol.)

@ace310: Thanks, good to know Rosy is working well for your home 😊 i will be ordering mine today

    • Hmm thinking about getting this one over the Roborock… I’m sure Roborock is superior but also $$$

  • +1

I have the Roborock S6 and love it. Mopping is meh (I've only used it once though) but very happy overall.

    • +1

I don't think 2 in 1 robot vacuums are good at mopping.

    • I find the mopping on this one ok… It's not amazing but gets a bit of dirt up. I usually get it to do multiple passes. It does require a fair bit more supervision than just vacuuming though which is a little annoying. But yeah the mopping is really a nice to have bonus, wouldn't be a main motivator to get one of these.

      • +1

True that. What I do once in a while is. Get the vacuuming done in first pass. Then mop in second pass. They spray some floor cleaner/disinfectant directly on floor at regular intervals and do a third mop pass. Takes sometime but, atleast it works a fair bit nice.

      • +1

Yeah I agree. It's a nice bonus. Just a bit of a bugger that this new house I'm in has nothing but vinyl floors 😅. Thinking about getting a steam mop but will wait and see. Too many other toys to buy first.

S6 works great even on carpet and fairly quiet well worth it

Anyone got a Roborock S6 MaxV? Currently have a Dreame D9, the cameras looks interesting, wondering if it's worth an upgrade.

    • Stay away from cameras due to privacy reasons, unless you don't care about it. These robots are easily hackable and they do send data back to servers.

    • +1

Yep, I have two. Hugely recommend it. Not sue about the camera element, never had any bad experience or heard about any. They explicitly state that it is stored locally and nothing is sent out, and you can turn the camera off in the app if you wanted (but defeats the purpose of having the obstacle avoidance feature).

All in all, I love it so much I bought 2 (a year apart)

  • If somebody is looking for more cheaper option, amazon au selling this for about $265 nzd delivered ($50 coupon included in cart)

Looks like suction power is slightly better than xiaomi 1c however doesn’t look like it has mopping function
