it says not for Midi, but…

this may be better for some that have it listed in Menulog

    • Can't see any $30 cakes at my local cheesecakeshop. Just like most establishments, they inflate their prices on menulog.

      • ouch yes your are right $69.90 menulog vs $46.90 on their site, think that voucher needs to be $30 off not $15!

        • Cheapest cheesecake is fifty bucks lol. The only items in the $30-$35 range is two quarter cheesecake slices, or six fancy cupcakes. Still overpriced, just imo.

Are there cheesecakes any good with a good percentage of cream cheese or is it just whipped cream, flour and egg?

    • imo not as good as they used to be in terms taste also a victim of shrinkflation. (can't remove my +1)

I remember a time when cheesecake implied cream cheese and sugar with a biscuit base but everyone has started using cost saving measure which ends up being being sweetened cream rather than sweetened cheese.

If it doesn't have the tang then I don't count it as a cheese cake at all.

Did you ever try the American Baked?

        Also I refunded your +1 ;-)

  • Get where you coming from, much like most ice creams now are frozen deserts. Tried the baked awhile back not sure i'd endorse it based on the last visit. Tbh i'd be inclined to make my own.

    • Definitely, I can buy 1kg of cream cheese for less than half the price of the discounted cake and probably be a better result.

      Thanks for the info.

Just to point out, a lot of ice creams end up being classified as "frozen dessert" not becuase they don't have enough cream content, but becuase all the extra stuff in it (lollies, sauces, etc) push the total cream content down below the standard. Check the vanilla flavour of the brand - you'll often find that yes, it is classed as ice cream.

      • Thanks for info although, I already look like a muppet examining the labels as it is. Could be just me but a few things have turned shet. Much Moore's Chocolate Cookies & Fudge used to be my go to, but now euhh. Prefer the smaller tubs as they seem like the ice cream of days gone by, now tip top is owned partly by nestle. Squiggles are another thing which taste like utter garbage, they leave an artificial after taste. The true problems facing NZ. Rant over, for now.
