But aint original Sony branded controllers aye?

    • +1

Going by the description and pictures it isn't, significantly overpriced..

    • Hi, as stated, it is compatible with full function.

  • Yep buyer beware - third party PS4 controller that looks vaguely like a Dualsense (PS5 controller). Very overpriced for a non-official Dualshock 4 or Dualsense controller.

    • Hi, Yes its a compatible product. FYI original Sony controller is $109.99 on EB games: https://www.ebgames.co.nz/featured/ps4-accessories

      • Yes but this product isn't comparable to an official Sony Dualshock 4.
Comparable products - https://themarket.com/nz/p/wireless-controller-for-ps4/5237-… - $39.99 Controller with free shipping if you're a Market Club Member.
https://themarket.com/nz/p/ps4-gaming-headphones-headset/523… - $26.99 Headphones with free shipping if you're a Market Club Member.

This is not a competitive price and I'd argue not actually a worthwhile deal at all.

        • -1

We are aware of competitions on TheMarket. We can tell our product is of better quality.

FYI when choosing an electronic product, a good sign to look for is whether is has a Type-C charging port (which our product is) because products with Type-C charging port are usually newer, more advanced and more durable (especially when it comes to re-charging because Type-C charging port is much more durable than Micro-USB charging port)

That product on TheMarket has a Micro-USB charging port. And their listing even has spelling error. Clearly not a very professional seller.

          Thanks

          • @Sammybro: I wouldn't say a Micro-USB vs a Type-C connector is the make or break here, to be honest.
Also this product is available online from many retailers, being the only retailer in NZ hawking this crap doesn't exactly mean it's quality.
We're on Cheapies because we look for deals, not to get ripped off.

            • @toejam316: Hi, its not make or break, its a "good sign to look for" speaking from our industry experience. To ensure people don't get ripped off is the reason why we care about quality and durability. Perhaps our definition of being "ripped off" is different.

              • @Sammybro: I'm very interested in your criteria for good quality, and how you've made this assessment.

  • +3

Not worth it, you can get literally the same thing off Aliexpress for half the cost though it might take longer. Just buy the real thing guys, knock offs aint worth the time or money

    • Hi, the product is sold by a NZ business with 12 months warranty, with local customer service etc. Ships from Auckland to arrive in a few days. On Aliexpress it will 100% take longer (not "might") . The product does not promise to be "the cheapest" because it is not as its made to a decent quality. Thanks.

AFAIK not all NZ businesses have to comply with 12 months warranty under CGA. I.E parallel imported items/ drop shipped items are not classified as under CGA.

source: I plan on doing the same thing by parallel importing items to resell

        • +1

What? If you are a business supplying a product you have to comply with the CGA, doesnt matter how you get the item…
And theres no 12 months, its resonable time. So depending on the product it could be years (a fridge for example)

        • +1

FYI we are not a drop shipper, and the product is not parallel imported. We publicly state our products come with warranty so they do and comply with CGA.

We have been in business since year 2004, I can tell you that under CGA you do need to provide warranty even if you sell parallel imported items :)

If I parallel import a Toyota car and sold it to you (as a business, not as an individual person) - do you think I get away with not providing any warranty simply because I parallel import it? :)

          • @Sammybro: Of course the product isn't parallel imported, because it isn't a genuine product. The product is imported, unless you complete the manufacturing onshore in New Zealand, which I would be absolutely amazed at if you did.
But you are importing it, so all you're confirming is either your business is buying these things in bulk and sitting on them, hoping someone who isn't up on their tech sees your controller looks like a Dualsense for PS5 (which is realistically exactly what the design is copying), or they're just not very good at shopping for cheap third party accessories.

If you want to bring your business around here, come with a better offering than a warranty on your cheap chinese Dualsense knock-off…

            • @toejam316: Hi, we are new to Cheapies, perhaps our definition of "deals and offers" are different. We thought people want deals AND warranty. If you do not care about or want warranty, then yes you should shop elsewhere.

However, thank you for the advise, we will rework our pricing model to produce some better compelling deals and offers for the Cheapies community in the future (still with warranty of course) - stay tuned :)

          @saxasianguy

I think you should check your homework, I mean I could be wrong but this is what's on the government site "You have the same rights when you buy parallel imported products as you do when you buy anything else".

From the way I read it manufacturer warranties may not always apply to parallel imported goods but all that means is that you as the seller are the one who will have to cover the costs of repairing/replacing the goods if there's a problem instead of the manufacturer. From what I understand the only time the 12 month warranty doesn't apply on new goods sold in NZ by people in trade are when they're advertised as factory refurbished or factory seconds.

    • Hi, FYI they are wholesale price with MOQ 20 pcs, and shipping fee is $179.77 with Estimated Delivery12/16-12/20 , exclude NZ GST tax.

      • +1

Are you saying that this is the same product as to what you sell?

        • We are saying we are a Retailer, NZ based. Not a overseas Wholesaler.

  • Thank you all for commenting. We do care about our customers, any other questions / comments / price comparisons, please post we will reply ASAP.

I always find it a good laugh when companies come on here trying to sell us cheap stuff they've picked up from Aliexpress/Alibaba/Shopee or whatever Chinese site they use for more than double the price we can buy the same items from those sites for ourselves.

The site is called ChoiceCheapies not ChoiceGullibleIdiots.

    • Thank you for your thoughts. We wish our business operation is as easy as you described :)
