  • Would this work in a PS5 does anyone know?

    • Its a Gen 3 NVMe and speed doesnt meet the PS5 requirements, so no

      • Pretty sure Firecuda is for gaming

  • +1

Normally I'd be in here to tell everyone that every SSD is bad but I'm okay with this.

It is definitely adequate for its price.

No DRAM but this particular SLC cache controller does an absolutely okay job and it's TLC.

I wouldn't use it for a server or a high performing workstation but gamers, everyday users and even non-IT professionals wouldn't notice a difference between it and a better SSD.

The only reason I'm not buying one is because they won't let me buy two and I RAID1 everything and I can't be bothered putting two orders through and risk having one cancelled and get stuck with one SSD.

    • It is possible to place two orders with two different PB Tech accounts. Also, it seems like they do have 512MB DRAM cache (link)?

      • Nice, good spotting. I was under the impression the E12 could only use its built in SLC cache but looks like there's pin outs for DRAM which they must have used.
